I'm just gonna hang out a shingle and call my new business "Be the Bop."
Thanks for this!

Are your hours going to be strictly 9-5?

Well. Good girl birthday call completed. Couch 125 - We shall survive!

The 12yo handled it quite nicely. There was only one need for a "bop" and I politely looked away, to avoid the pay per view cost, with a smile and a giggle under my breathe.

Thank you for suggesting someone else take that call Ruh Roh!

"Be the Bop" rocks!! Couch 125 - We shall survive!

I have no bopping skills either!! "Be the Bop" worked like a charm! Couch 125 - We shall survive!

Okay fellow readers - I'm trying to pick my Book of the Month selection for December.... I haven't read any of these which is why I signed up for the club was for some variety. However I want them all (well except for one) so any direction/suggestions?

1. The Sun is Also A Star - Nicola Yoon
2. Swimming Lessons - Claire Fuller
3. Whatever Happened to Interracial Love - Kathleen Collins
4. Pull Me Under - Kelly Luce

Nope! 1-2 pm on the first Monday of the month and 3-4 am on the fifth Tuesday.

Ahem. I generally suck at current pop music, but there are a few exceptions, mostly from the late 1990s when I briefly lived in a flat where we had TV channels, including MTV (which held a strange fascination for me due to it being so... strange.). So one of the few contemporary tunes I can identify is "Mmmbop". Which is now firmly lodged in my brain, due to all this bopping. I shall have to cleanse my brain with some Tallis.

Ellahmae - I have no heard of any of those titles or writers, I'm afraid, so I'm not the one to help you choose...
Thanks for this!

I'm not sure whether I would like to never see my T again or if I'd actually like to see him tomorrow. (Which is not an option. Or even a boption.) A bit of both, I think. I hate it that he's asked me all these questions to make me think in these terms, but on the other hand I am now thinking about these things and he is the only person I could discuss it with. But then again, I shouldn't need such discussion, really.

I, too, have Mmmm Bop Ba Dippy Bop stuck in my head as well.

It's okay - they are all newer titles as the Book of the Month club likes to get new releases out - which is nice that I can stay up with the new, current ideals/thoughts/etc at the same time as reading my other books.

Sorry, I really have no concept of where regular people have their boundaries. Either I say nothing or I overshare like crazy. I'm sorry.

Goodnight, couchinistas.

I suck at bopping too. But when I call my own mother for her birthday in 12 days, I am going to do the same thing you did Trail - and let Little Miss 15 make the call, heh, meanwhile picturing our very own Be The Bop taking care of business if required. And try not to giggle.
Thanks for this!

That's happened to me before. The pharmacy made a mistake and gave me Tylenol #4 instead of Tylenol #3.

I hate my primary care Drs online portal to communicate. His staff reads and answers thus garbling my message or question to my dr. I have s vital medication that is all effed up because of the telephone game.

They're taught boundaries growing up on implicit and explicit levels. They didn't have their boundaries invaded over and over again, or were disallowed to have boundaries.

I swing between being super withdrawn and oversharing / spilling major secrets a lot.

Often to people who aren't safe, people I barely know. They freak and run, or use that information.

What I'm trying to learn is the degrees of sharing (and the difference between those groups!) between strangers, acquaintances, friends, close friends etc. As well as what counts as public info, personal info, private info and secrets.

It's also confusing because...we know so little about our therapists, yet have to spill our guts! Similar for peer support groups.
Thanks for this!

The Sherlock character in Elementary is my new hero. He just said to a woman he is trying to woo "I don't want to not have sex now" in response to her asking him if he wanted to have sex with her right then.
