Update

I came to PC after an assault left me feeling more vulnerable than before. Since then I've posted a couple of threads detailing some of my problems, so it's been a while and a lot has happened and I wanted to update and thank you.

The assault prompted me to join PC to seek support, and advice. The advice I received was so helpful and you all helped push me in the direction I needed to go in.
A couple of weeks ago I went to the police, told them of evidence I'd hidden at my parents house and evidence on my own body of recent abuse. Both my parents were arrested for a long list of crimes including rape , abuse and neglect. Both my parents have been charged, my mum was bailed, my dad was remanded to prison until the trial.
The police have been really good and kept me informed, and as scary as this is, I'm glad I'm doing this with your support.

Only a couple of people knew that I was for a few weeks pregnant again with my father's baby. I've spent the last couple of weeks in hospital after suffering a miscarriage and blood poisoning. I'm now at home, feeling empty on so many levels, but I'm home.
DNA tests are being done on the miscarried tissue to use as evidence, and it's looking like it's going to be a quick trial. My parents are defending each other and blamed everything on me, apparently I am able to seduce my father...? I can't go there now.

But I really wanted to say thank you to all of you. I needed this push not just to get my life back and claim it as my own, but also for my survival. Thank you, thank you so much.

You did all of the hard work and deserve so much better than what you have lived through. There may be more work ahead but I'm hoping the worst is over. Hugs!!!

We're glad you came here for support, and it's great if we were able to help! I'm glad you posted again because you may be an inspiration to others who come across this and who are in abusive situations. As growly said, you've done a lot of hard work and called on a lot of bravery to get through this. I'm so glad your dad will be going away to prison where he can't hurt you anymore.

Have they given you any idea when the trial would take place? I imagine that will be the last hurdle, but you can do it. I imagine the first steps were the hardest to take.
