Sometimes I am amazed at her memory. My t remembers everything. This week was a very weird session I showed her my project for college and it was about a very personal thing to me. Something we never really discussed in session but she is aware of it. As I was showing her my project she was able to relate things back to me about my own process. Things going back to our first session together. Things I didn't even think she noticed because she never brought it up in session. There were times when I accused t of not caring and not doing her job but when she told me the reasons I was really touched by how well she knows me and my process. There were times were I left in the middle of session because I was too embarrassed and it was to painful to sit with her, she explained that if she had of stopped me I would have been shamed even more because she would be giving me the message that I was doing something wrong and reprimanding me. I honestly thought she didn't care. I am crying just thinking about it. She really notices everything

The first one I see has got the world's worst memory. I doubt she knows my name without checking her appointment book.

Hi Mona, it's so nice to read something good about your T.
I know you two have had your ups and downs but hopefully this session has had a positive impact on your relationship! ![]() |

I always wonder how you can be a therapist with an awful memory. It would be really difficult to manage and jot upset everyone! |

I'm also very glad to read something so positive about your T. I'm glad you're getting along better with her.
![]() My T has often apologized for not having a good memory but she notices every detail during my session. I think she sees too many clients, which she admitted. She goes from one to the next without breaks. However, yesterday was the first time she messed up my session time. She's younger than I am but I know"senior moments" start around her age, early 50's, so I don't judge her for that. She remembers the important things about me. Again, I'm glad to read your post, mona. |

My T also has a really good memory, and I have no idea how she does it. She sees clients back to back, and she never has written one note. It is impressive.

My therapist remembers a lot.. not every single detail of our conversations and all of the work but she remembers more than I ever could

Wow, That is impressive. My t is pretty busy too. She does more supervision than personal therapy now but her memory is exceptional. My friend who went to see her for a while said that t said something once, something horrible which does not supervise me but then when my friend she it to her the following session she looked horrified and asked "who said that?" ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Regular T has a very good memory , EMDR T is a bit forgetful. I think I have " senior moments " more now though.
