How many of you are out there looking to match your therapist up with a girl/guy?
Is this acceptable behavior for a therapist? To ask a client to fix them up? |

Your post is unclear. Can you provide more information, or is this just venting?

That sounds disturbing to me. No, it's not okay for a therapist to ask favors of a client, especially of such a very personal nature.

Besides, if you did "fix them up" and it didn't work out for them, how would your therapy proceed from there? Would it mean you know whom they have a relationship with, wouldn't that impact you? Not to mention the clear issue of you taking care of the therapist's needs. This sounds wrong on many levels.

I agree it's wrong to do. I know someone who did just that. There were so many breaches of conduct and unethical behaviors you wouldn't believe what went on.
I wonder how many other people try to hook their therapist up? |

Are you speaking of yourself? You often post about your ex-T being involved with a friend of yours?

This is unethical behavior on the part of the therapist. It's just so wrong.

I would not feel comfortable fixing my T up, nor with asking her to set me up. It is just not appropriate for that sort of relationship.
I find the receptionist at the clinic I go to very attractive but have never asked her out because I think even that might cross the line. |

Yes, it is wrong. Did you ever report the guy to anyone? With all the sinister things this t has done (based on your other posts) it sounds like he should be in jail. Stay safe.

Can you be clearer? Did your therapist ask this if you? How did this conversation go?
