When i was reading your message, i was thinking, oh no! Was really glad to hear there was a car on the driveway.

Good that you aren't too unsettled. Working things out with him sounds like a positive experience for you.

How about using this situation as a learning curve in decreasing your impulsivity?

Like next time you want to act in a similar fashion, you reflect on how badly this went down...

Idk, just something I would do if I were in your shoes, I'd reframe it as a type of exposure therapy.
