This has not been my experience at all.

My therapist is of average height and has plenty of hair (short but rich, definitely not bald).
Thanks for this!

My T is somewhere in her mid 30's with chestnut/brown shoulder length hair that's usually pulled back in a low ponytail. She has nice blue-green eyes and is about 5'3" or 5'4" and average sized but curvy (she has a defined waist and wider hips). I think she's quite pretty. My T always wears black and almost always wears a dress or skirt - in the 14 months I've been seeing her she has worn pants twice.

I don't really imagine what other people's Ts look like... If I had to I woul picture a less wiggly Dr Katz haha. If they were female, just an average 40ish woman maybe with glasses.
Thanks for this!

Thanks, I appreciate it. You weren't to know I'd find it triggering.

I think most men are shortish and average looking--many in my area are actually dumpy and gross looking, although you wouldn't know it by the way they imagine themselves to look. It's not surprising that male therapists are representative of the general average looking middle aged man.

I have only seen one male therapist, but he was more like a rock climber, outdoorsy type. The women have all had different looks, but maybe because I see women as more multi-dimensional than men. I can't even think of a category or type for my therapist. She's totally her own self. She says she's tall, but I'm much taller than she is, so I guess it's relative.

The only therapist referred to on this forum that I have an image of is unaluna's, which is a kind of buff Bernie.
Thanks for this!

I'm surrounded mostly by very tall men in my real life. My husband and my closest male friend are both well over 6ft and so are my husband's best friend and the husband of my closest female friend. I don't know if it's just something in the water in my county
T is the shortest man I know.

My BS theory: their shortness and possible baldness leads them to feel inferior to "real men," therefore they take up a profession dominated by women and that can be very "female" cause, you know, emotions.

Or, it's just anecdata.

Cant belive i forgot about him-I just thought of an old friend who i thought, without a doubt, should be a therapist. And he is tall, gorgeous, thick hair. He could figure me out like no one else. All that and looks like Richard Gere.

It was like he had mental telepathy and xray vision. It actually came from his training as an intelligence officer, i kid you not. They use psychoanalytic concepts in their training, too.
