Even better, in the music world we say we "won" the job
I am editing my statement for incorrect spelling of "editing"

Getting reeeally tired. It's going to be an early night for me which will hopefully kick me into UK time. What could possibly go wrong?

One of the things I learned in my meeting with my sup yesterday is this new client we have (the project I'm working on) requires a 95% service level. All of our other clients have a required 80% service level. It is insane. I told my sup that they are effectively running our business for us. She was not amused by this assessment.

Had lunch for daughter's birthday today, involving all the grandparents. Topic of picky eating came up, and my MIL commented how H was a picky eater as a kid. To which my mom said: "LT was never a picky eater until she became a vegetarian" (which I started in college). Um, yeah, that's not the same as being a picky eater... Of course I didn't say anything in response...just felt annoyed.

I had a friend who acted like it was a huge chore to "find a place where skeksi can eat" every time we went out, even though I insisted truthfully that as a vegetarian I can literally eat anywhere. It's really annoying when people comment on your eating choices and act like they are odd or inconvenient, when it has nothing to do with them.

When I first became vegetarian (years ago), my mom was like, "But what if your friends want to go out to Burger King?" And I was like, "Uh...my friends don't tend to go to Burger King or McDonald's much, but I can just get fries or whatever." I think she thought being vegetarian would ruin my social life. It hasn't done that any more than being an introvert has...(something else she doesn't understand!)

What's funny is that my daughter is going through a meat phase. She either wants chicken apple sausages or "sliders" aka cheeseburgers for dinner every night (H is not vegetarian, so it works). And eggs for breakfast (I do eat those).

I just wonder why it's always the jerks who end up in management. My assistant principal is a garbage human being AND he's terrible at his job.

There are kids on scooters going around the block - every 20 minutes my dogs go ballistic.
Scooters and skateboards just make them crazy.

My husband and I took his new wheelchair out for a spin today. It has literally been years since we went out and did anything beyond quick trips in and out of stores, etc., because walking has just become too painful for him. But we finally got him his own wheelchair and spent the afternoon walking an entire mall. I know that seems perhaps just normal everyday activity for most people, but it was such a pleasure to us to do something normal, without having to go hunt down a wheelchair (if we can find one), without dealing with rented wheelchairs that are broken and dirty. We were able to park where we pleased. He was able to enjoy the scenery and shopping instead of just fighting his way through the pain. I was able to relax and not spend the whole time worried about how much pain he was in. It was as normal a day as we've had in a long time. Feeling very blessed.
