I know that it's probably going to be a lot different on Wednesday!

I was testing all day as well, and it was miserable. Ended up throwing one of the kids from one group out due to behavior, and one group was delayed because I had to deal with middle school drama.

Personally I think your dinner sounds delicious! Hope you enjoy.
I am looking for a teaching job. I am a certified teacher currently working as a TA (called IAs here too but many I come across from other states look at me weird when I say IA). Since we are short teachers to administer the state tests and I am certified (a requirement), I get pulled to do it a lot. So, yes, I am administering state testing. And, yes, I am currently working as a TA/IA. And, finally, yes, I am a certified teacher. I wear many hats.

I am also in a middle school. There certainly is a lot of drama.

I hope you're able to find a certified job for next year! I can complain about teaching, but I have so much admiration for the IAs that I work with and my friends who are IAs. It's a hard and often thankless job.

And your school is lucky to have a certified IA to do state testing. Our major round of testing starts Monday and we're short teachers as well. Thankfully we have some subs in the system who can assist, but not many.

And drama in a middle school is an understatement!

You can say that ten times fast with your eyes shut. Lol.

My district has testing the most of the rest of the year due to lack of computer and multiple subjects and the state moving to a CBT. My district was also nuts and started testing this past Tuesday (we were on Spring Break last week, came back for a normal day Monday and then "boom" testing started). The kids do not like testing immediately after coming off a break (and neither do teachers). Heck, I don't think anyone likes state testing in general.

Evening couch. I am home, fed, and caught up on the couch. It is already 10pm (well after)...wow. I need to do some laundry, but it looks like it will have to wait until tomorrow. I could clean a little tonight, since I am still not doing that. I hate my lack of motivation.

Our school is 1:1, so all of our testing is able to take place toward the end, which has advantages and disadvantages. I'm thankful we didn't start testing right after Spring Break! Mine was the same week as yours. So thankfully we had a week to review/remediate. The social studies test for the class I teach is this Friday. I'll be glad when it's over! No one likes the tests.

Noooo, don't leave us! I've written you a love poem:

I love my love with a U
She is unique and useful
And understanding and un-ugly
She plays the ukulele
She is faster than Usain Bolt
She took me to Utica
And she lives in Umbria!

I hated these people who were hosting me

They were all plastic-y and rich and had a beach house right on Nantucket Sound and to everything I said, they raised their eyebrows and answered "oooooo-ooohhhh"

But now we've all had some wine (although me more than them) and they aren't half bad

I've spent all week stuck in myself from when I was little, because their house is cold the way my parents' house always was. I'm glad these people aren't really like them, just the coldness of their house.

But I'll be so happy to come back to my tiny but warm apartment.

Well we all had wine except for the bassoonist, who asked for warm milk instead, which I think is funny only because she plays bassoon and bassoons are silly.

Hey couch! I just got home from a most lovely, healing, multitude of blessings evening with my drumming group. We spent several hours up in Sabino Canyon, we hike together to this special place among beautiful trees where there is a little sand "beach" and usually some water. There was more water than usual this time! After taking our socks & shoes off and wading in the water, we gather in a circle on the sand and talk and then one person drums for the rest of us to journey to, and then we talk and share again for a time, then we drum together for awhile, then we just sit in silence (well, people silence anyway!) and listen to all the creatures of the night that totally come alive as it gets dark during our group drumming. Frogs, crickets, bats flying overhead, every living 'creature' in nature that could sing tonight, was singing and it was so absolutely beautiful!! Here's some pics:

I wanted to say I wish I had that flamingo dress in long sleeved button down shirt form.

And Art, maybe you might want to consider changing companies? I'm a tiny cog in the giant engine of my government but I stay because my IT work serves people bla bla. Customer service is quite in demand in certain companies I'd imagine?

People would be all over my viola if they knew how much more whisky it holds than a violin

I add my respect for teachers. The best teacher I ever had was in 11th grade Creative Writing, she was such a huge influence on me back then, and we are still in touch 38 years later. I went to lunch with her time before last when I was back home visiting. I still share poems with her even!
