So of course I can't sleep tonight. I have been doing nothing but sleeping the last few weeks. It has to be because of this neurologist appointment in the morning. My pdoc and T have been wanting me to go and get my hand tremors and memory issues checked out. I am not sure how it will go. The hand tremors are most likely a side effect of meds. The memory issues started with ECT and are probably exacerbated from the meds. However I am kind of hoping she finds something that will explain this craziness.

Anyone else see a neurologist?

I did, years ago, for what turned out to be severe stress.

I like neurologists as doctors. They're kind of like psychologists that deal with physical stuff.

There is a lot of process of elimination involved, the nervous system not being all that visible, so a diagnosis might take a while and involve lots of tests.

I did a few years ago too. I really liked my doctor though the tests were very scary. The GP wanted me tested for MS but neuro dr. told me instead that my symptoms and test results fit no diagnostic pattern and it looked like the symptoms were psychologically derived. She told me gently that frequently that is the result of having buried childhood trauma. That began my most recent therapy journey. She was right. Sometimes I want to write her a note and thank her but I can't remember her name.

Anyway best of luck with yours. I saw a pediatric one too for a while. Neurologists are nice people.

I have a great neurologist. He really wants to help. Doesn't give up.

I've also had crap neuroligsts in the past, but this one is really great.

Well neurologically she says I am fine. All of my problems are from either the depression or the meds that are trying to treat the depression.

So on one hand I am glad there is nothing wrong but at the same time it would have been nice for it to not be the depression causing the problems again.

You mentioned memory problems. Out of curiosity, would you happen to be on lamictal? It created HUGE memory issues for my husband. Some meds are prone to create memory problems. Did the neurologist offer any insight that way?

Yes I am on Lamictal but we have really lowered the dose so I hope it helps. She said the memory is from attentiveness. So she said to keep writing things down to help me remember. For the tremors she said to look into getting weighted things because they help steady the tremor.
