Lolagrace, I'm so, so sorry for your loss.

I'm back home after a week away. Dreading my session with t in less than 2 hours. A big part of me just wants to cancel and use this break to start getting over her. But another big part wonders if I was being a drama queen. And a third, more rational part says it would be dumb and wimpy to leave this unresolved and let it set me me back considerably. And the dumb, pathetic part of me pipes in that I miss her. Sigh.

Junk...drug tests are pretty standard where I live. My brother even had to take one for a stockboy job. You won't know unless you take it. Is pot illegal in your state...it is in mine. If it is legal, then you have nothing to worry about. But, I am assuming it is illegal if you are worried about it showing up.

Home from C, showered (for the first time in a week and a half...bad squirrel). And changed into non-CVS scrubs. I need to do laundry and had no clean scrubs or time to wash them and dry them before filling in at the other store today, so I stopped by walmart on my way home from C and bought a pair of scrubs. They do not have the tiny little CVS heart on them, but they are navy blue, so I will still be close to uniform. I need to order more CVS scrubs since I only have two sets right now (all the store provides for free each year) and I am working almost everyday so far this summer.

And I STILL need to clean my room...why I can't seem to get that accomplished is beyond me. I also need to finish my final assignment/project for my masters class before Monday. Geeze, I am a procrastinator. Next week, I am off during the day (no CVS or C), so maybe I can get my room squared away then. I only have CVS at night next week. I got asked last night if I wanted to work on the 10th (next Sat) because only 2 people were scheduled and they felt they would be struggling without another person. I said sure...I will take the hours. I don't know if it is a half day or a full day yet, but hours are hours.

Yeppp it's illegal. A SIN!!
I'm at Ts office printing out the form for the urgent care drug test people. I really didn't want to leave my house or even speak to anyone but I managed to get this far...

Gonna go pee in their stupid cup or should I take a crap in it!!!!!

It wasn't for a drugs test but for a hospital test...

I had travelled in high school and picked up some bug. I was extremely ill for months and finally my mom called the dr. They said they'd have me come in and do a stool sample. Ok. My mom didn't understand that they'd probably give me the poo-vessel there. I tried to convince her of this but instead she had me take a poop in a PAPER BAG.

We got in the car with the paper bag, went to the dr office and got called into the exam room... my mom produces the dreaded thing, I am so embarrassed I want to puke... the door handle turns and in walks in...

My ex's mom, the one who had broken up with me the week before.

I knew she was a dr but had no idea she worked at this place.

My mom brandishes the bag of my crap, exclaiming "here's the stool sample!" and pushes it into the hands of my ex's mom. The look of shock and revulsion on that lady's face, I will never forget.

The sample came back clean, btw. They never figured out what I had.

I have picked today to learn that if I feel so wretched that I need to take a day off and curl up in bed with a book and commune with the cats, I can (at least during summer vacation), and the world will not end.

The cats are wondering what has taken me so long to adopt their attitude to life.

Cats are constantly setting a good example for their minions. If only the minions would recognize it.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I worked this morning because it was the last day of school and I needed to finalize grades and close up my room, but I was able to leave about noon. My coworkers were very kind and handed me a gorgeous orchid plant and an envelope with about $150 in restaurant gift cards and cash they had collected for us as we travel down for the funeral. I was a bit floored as they pulled that together in a matter of a few hours. My department chair said I am well loved. She had gotten about half of that and had gone out to get the gift cards, and when she returned people kept bringing her more money so she just handed the rest to me in cash.

My sister and I have been working on service plans and obituary all day. My brother-in-law is paying to hire musicians to play. Mom was an organist and very much the reason my sisters and I became musicians. As a family we will also be singing a piece during the service. My sister and I may sing a duet if we decide we can hold it together to do so.

I'm actually okay at this point. I've shed a few tears, but I think I am mostly relieved that she didn't suffer and went quickly. That would have been much harder.

I've received dozens of messages of love and condolence through Facebook after we posted an announcement of her passing this morning. She was highly loved by many, many people.

We are leaving after our son's high school graduation Saturday morning and will be gone for about a week. Besides the service on Monday, there will be a graveside service a few days later; our family has a funeral plot in the town where my father grew up a few hours away from where they currently live.

Dad is okay. We were all just thrown by how quickly after we placed her in hospice she passed, but I've seen it play out that way for many over the years. I think she felt able to let go once she was no longer in her house and no longer being primarily cared for by my dad.

Chris, I am very sorry for your loss.
