Couch 143: The Mr. Rogers Love Transformation

Parents as professionals are the worst. My stepmom is a psychologist and look where her expertise got me!

I'm just kidding of course. All of the super traumatic stuff happened before she showed up or with people I can't easily remove from my life.

I was told explicitly that I cannot program any piece of music involving amplification or electronics for this avant-garde concert series I'm organizing.

So of course in my infinite expertise I managed to program a piece for percussion and amplified cacti.

This is a big problem- the amplification but also... who the hell is gonna get these cacti?

So I became the person in the cafe that I hate, making a scene over the phone, because production is willing to absorb this mistake and provide speakers and mics, but then, there's no room in the budget for cacti so do we ask the percussionist to provide his own? How many are needed? What size? Do we need to call in the union to tarp the stage against dirt?

What is my life?

What will the Monarch think of it all?

Does cacti mean something special in music? Because cacti plants are quite cheap.

Nope, actual cacti. In this particular piece the needles are "played" and the sound is amplified as part of the music.

Around here cacti are... not so cheap for some reason. At least in the size it would take to be playable.

Too bad Art is not still around. She lives around tons of them

Evening couch. I am home from CVS and caught up on the couch. I am hungry again. It's too late to cook anything though. I guess I could eat some string cheese and lunch meat. It's something.

Must remember to look out for an ocarina for my collection while at the festival

I sometimes feel like I am someone I am yet to meet.

Was out of string cheese, but I had some cheddar snack sticks left, so I ate 3 of them.

Oh wow...I still need to take my evening meds. Better do that while I am thinking about it.

Morning couch. I woke up about an hour ago (6am) for god only knows why and have been playing online. I really need to clean...bad Squirrel...but I would rather go back to sleep. I can't sleep all day though. Geeze. I am such a lazy person.

I'm having this problem, too.

Come on in and warm up BCM, it's about 80F (26C?) in my apartment right now.
