Lighter topic. Hopefully laughter will help those of you hurting.

My t gave me at least 5lbs of various smoked meats (has stopdog been talking to Kashi??) it was very sweet of him and I will enjoy it but an offbeat gift

What is the strangest thing t has given you?
Thanks for this!

He only seems like he would be vegan. Apparently he is quite the carnivore. He fishes a lot and eats his catches.

He just got a new smoker. And he must have had a monstrous turkey. Turkey enchiladas it is!!
Thanks for this!

I was going to start by saying that this sees like a bigger deception than his sexuality....harrumph.....but immediately got sidetracked by the endless possibilities for juvenile humor in what you've said above and...uhh....his sexuality.

(I shall now go be a good citizen with PG-13 thoughts and rue the fact that my Ts have been so so so so boring. Sigh)

A play knife that retracts into the shaft when pressed against something.

Or a poster of grumpy cat that says "I had fun once. It was awful"

I have shared this before, but I had a therapist give me a small rubber insect that she said was a scarab, and before I could stop myself, I said, "I think it's a cockroach." And then she argued back that she knows a scarab when she sees one and I said well, it sure looked like a cockroach to me. Anyway, it was our parting session and I guess she was trying to be nice and I had to go and ruin it. But it was a cockroach, no question.

Holy cow, if a T gave me meat (especially the smoked variety) in session, I might reconsider going back to therapy instead of the grocery store. Perhaps my being a hopeless carnivore is due to childhood trauma or something.

One of mine told me the name and address of a tattoo artist that he liked. I did not seriously consider getting ink done by that guy as I am very picky, but I did go to the salon just to see. What I found was a man and a woman yelling at each-other by the door. Way to find clients?

L has never given me anything

M has given me several things, I guess the silliest would be a clay dinosaur ocarina from Mexico. And maybe that blueberry muffin nude print.

Would probably seem weird to others, but No. 3 gave me this little diamond-shaped piece of bling about half the size of a pinky nail as one of her parting gifts to me last month. She always had it on her table - she'd found it on her floor around the time I first started with her - and we had a running joke about it and how she liked it.

So, yeah, to anyone else it's something that fell off a piece of costume jewelry, but not to us.

I have never had a therapist give me anything. I don't think I would accept anything even if a therapist offered. It would be way too weird for me. Plus it would give them notions.

My therapist has barely given me a handful of gifts over the years. Something symbolic before an exam, books, articles, pieces of chocolate. Nothing odd, ever.

My now former therapist would have thought it inappropriate to give me a gift, though he accepted small presents from me. The funny thing he did was that when he gave me free drugs he gave them as a present--as though it was the best he could do. He was especially generous when he felt sorry for me.

I can't think of anything weird. She's given me little things like stones. Maybe the starfish though she wrote something nice about it. All I can think of is she's given me her love, and that feels a little weird sometimes.

A disposable "bs" bag with instructions printed on the bag to open it, talk bs until it's full, then throw the bag away...
