Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.

Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely.

This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means.

It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends.

We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("T") - we speak from experience...

Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread.

Grab a cushion, a spot on the floor, or an armchair in the corner (or with us) and make yourselves comfy!

Whoo new couch!
I'll admit my ignorance that I don't get the pun in the title. Oh well.

I'll be largely absent today. I'm going with my coteacher today on a shopping excursion to IKEA for stuff for our classroom. So hugs in advance for whoever wants or needs them.
Thanks for this!

The session went amazingly. Better than I could have anticipated. Thanks for your support couch. It helped me to gather the courage to say what I needed to say. I was shaking and nearly crying when I said it but he handled it like a sage.

Morning couch. I have my 2nd interview at work later this morning for the new position (positino?) in Research and Resolution. Wish me luck! I'm really nervous because it's a phone interview again (via WebEx) but a little less nervous now since I found out that there's no actual computer part to it - it's just the phone part of the WebEx thank goodness. (Whew!)

Internal interviews are stupid. They either want me or they don't why do I have to go through this?! It's not like I'm somebody off the street. They already know me, they can see my stats, they can read my yearly reviews for the past going on 5 years, blah. I hate interviews and I am terrible at them.

But at least it gets my mind off other stuff. There's always that. More later after the interview.

Good luck, Art! I'm sure you'll do great. I always feel like I'm bad at interviews, too (and a few times I got the job even though I felt like I totally crashed and burned in the interview). They probably legally have to go through a certain process for interviewing all candidates, even though they know you.
Thanks for this!

I'm pretty sure J is going to be really proud that I'm taking a no-contact break from S.
I hope Group T did not call and tell him.
I hope I can look him in the eye when I tell him I made this decision and can actually handle seeing him being proud.
I hope this session lives up to how much I've built it up in my mind......

Feeling great today

On Tues my T agreed to meet me during a break on Thurs at the building, because my dog has a broken leg and gets around in a wagon, he loved the video and wanted to see him in person, so we stopped by

He was outside waiting for us and after he loved on my dog a bit, he asked if we wanna go in and meet some people, so we agreed, my dog loves people.... he introduced us to several of his co workers and I went home and sent a quick thank you email, saying it was nice to of him to take the time to do that, and my dog loved it.... it came to a auto response saying yesterday he was not doing emails because of back to back appointments, being very busy. I almost cried, realizing that he thought I was important enough to take, even 15 min of that busy day to do that, no complaints, didn't rush us out... I felt like I mattered... and I am not used to that, incredible

and yes it's probably not "Wise" to meet T off session but at least it was structured and still at the same place I always go.

Honestly so blessed I have an amazing T.
