Write it to someone you do respect and change the name at the last minute.

Can any cat owners give me some advice please. I have an 18 month old spayed female cat. She's always been really friendly, but it's as though in the last couple of days she's had a personality transplant. She seems really nervous of us, running away, and when she did let me stroke her she hissed at me. It's really out of character.
She goes outside but never normally goes far and is always ready to come in when we open the door, but now she's going out for hours on end and always wanting to go back out. Any idea what might be going on with her?

RS...that was my thought, too. Or, are there other cats around? She could distressed if she is smelling them around when she is inside your house and/or if she is running into them outside. Cats are super territorial (as you probably know).

We are moving house soon and have been at the new house overnight a couple of times preparing (just us, not cat). My husband pointed out there was a dog in the house before. Perhaps we are bringing the scent home and that's upsetting her? The new house did smell of dog when we first arrived.

I think it'd be best to take her to the vet for a check-up, Spoon... with cats any odd change in behaviour is worth getting checked out, as they tend not to show pain or distress in obvious ways.

I agree with Rug that it could be territorial stuff though, or stress for some other reason. OR... it could be nothing. Cats are weird.
Thanks for this!

She's just come in and H said she was purring at him. I'm wondering if it's the scent thing or perhaps she's just decided she hates me.

My females have always been more territorial, Spoon. It may be the foreign scent.

I'm so tired, couch. It's only Tuesday and I'm exhausted. There's no way I get everything done for Open House on Friday.

So if I'm not around much, that's why. Now, off to Target for hopefully my last classroom shopping trip.

I don't like that I don't need Duchess as much as I used to.

Cats are bad at listening. They see your lips moving and they think, "that reminds me, I'm hungry."

There was only one email and it was fine.

CE - are you waiting for an email from the therapist?

I'm sitting here bawling. Duchess just talked about a client she was with til 2230 and said, "you remember those days". Why is this a ****ing trigger. I still want them to be those days. I know she's not trying to o get rid of me and I know I'm special to her and I know I'm progressing and she's doing her job, but damnit I hate her job and I miss her and I hate going to 2x a week. Why does this hurt so bad? There goes the okayness I have had since Friday.

Walmart is such a weird place. I was picking up some odds and ends for my classroom and there was a guy in there with his Great Dane. Very obviously not a service dog. Of course the employees said nothing.
Thanks for this!

Swam laps for an hour this afternoon, took half a day off work when they offered VTO (voluntary time off that's unpaid). Even though I think a lot while I swim, the right-ness of being in the water overrides the hurt that usually accompanies said thinking the past couple weeks. If I could just live in the pool until I can talk to t again, that would be helpful, thankyouverymuch.
