Oh, I'm OK with some shedding. I dated this guy a while back (obviously!) who had a black lab and a golden retriever mix. And his place was covered in dog hair--though that was largely due to his not keeping it clean (it also smelled).

The reason I'm against getting a golden is once I was there and wearing a black shirt. The golden jumped on my lap (she was a sweetheart) and instantly, I was wearing a golden doghair shirt. Like, totally covered. And the hairs had something on the end that held them to clothing because I was still finding hairs embedded in my clothing months after we split up!

So I don't mind *some* shedding, just prefer not to that level.
