I just don't feel like doing anything at all. I just want to stay in bed and either sleep, read, or I watch Netflix. What is wrong with me?

Hi Hope,

What do you think is wrong? Have you had anything like this before?

It could be a physical illness making you feel exhausted. Or maybe you are suffering from depression. Or maybe you have not had enough sleep, or maybe the things going on in your life have been exhausting for you.

If it was me, I would:

- try taking a day or a few days off sick and sleeping around the clock. (I did this earlier in the year. It scared me, but I felt better afterwards and it was what I neeeded to do. I slept 20 hours per day for two days.)

- if this doesn't work or doesn't make you feel better, make an appointment to visit the GP and discuss with them.

- and also make an appointment with your Pdoc in case it is an issue about meds or something related to mental health.

I think that is what I would do if it was me. I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you, that was a wonderful post.

I've been under a lot of stress lately.

I feel so exhausted.

I usually at least like to get up and listen to music. But I'm not interested in that right now.

I hope you can get some rest and sleep, and That your life will be a bit calmer. I'm sorry it has been so stressful.

This is 100% exactly what I do when stressed, too. It's kind of like a cave to hibernate in, where we can distract ourselves with sleep and reading and watching things. I think our minds treat laying in bed like a healing process, but the problem of course is that it becomes habitual, and we don't feel like we've recuperated, so we just keep laying around. Sigh.

I sometimes don't want to get out of bed either. It could be depression or medication. Good luck getting out of bed.
