You don't "feel" / "see" she's the right person -- based on your interactions with her -- but perhaps you think that in terms of formal knowledge (or qualifications -- dunno what hers are) etc, she would be considered the better person?

I too want to dream of phallic cupcakes but since OT's laid claim on the hot pink, I am calling dibs on fluorescent green or orange (I'm flexible).
Well, she does have an online doctorate in behavioral health studies or something like that. Ooh, and there was the complaint that she hadn't actually earned her MSW or some such (don't know the details).

I am far less puzzled now.

And I want neon purple phallic cupcakes.
Thanks for this!

I had near-identical dreams (in terms of the bang-for-the-buck parts) of both current T and former T -- former T as soon as I started with her and current T a couple of weeks ago (about a year into starting with her).

I'd have to put trigger warnings for both though (much as we're into discussing phallic cupcakes on this thread) and so, I'll refrain from getting into it.

I'm pretty sure I know what it was about and the emotion with former T was terror whereas with current T, it was more like "Eh, what?" -- my interpretation was basically that therapy was starting to feel invasive / uncomfortable and that the T had no idea I was feeling so awful.

Interestingly, current T did not really want to hear the contents of the dream I had about former T (it was graphic) -- visibly turned her face away, hurried me on, got rather nervous and so on. I'm now wondering if just for kicks, I should let her know I had a similar dream about her.

I would totally tell current t. She is much too squeamish for her own good. Or to be a therapist.

But, also, therapists should want to hear about dreams even if they're not that into working with them. Imo.

A week later and I'm still having these dreams. I've been telling Kashi about it and he doesn't know what to make of it either. He has endured me emailing him YouTube videos of Moz and or the smiths. Every day a new song stuck in my head and a vaguely remembered dream. All or most smiths songs are freakin sad or about lack of connection. Moz is thought to be bisexual so I thought it was about him or my friend who passed years ago who was a fan. But then reading Wikipedia Moz declared once that he hated sex and was mostly celibate. Frankly that sounds more like me.

Ok armchair dream interpreters, here are the songs that have surfaced in my head after the dreams
This charming man
Heavens knows I'm miserable now
You're the one for me fatty (ha ha subconscious aren't you funny)
Panic
The more you ignore me the closer I get
When is now
Girlfriend in a coma

Maybe I have a brain tumor on the musical storage area in my brain next to depeche mode and joy division. Ugh
Thanks for this!

Am I being too simplistic to think the dreams are as simple as they appear to be, which is a need to resolve your panic or ambiguity about sexuality and relationships? That's assuming you have panic over it--you mentioned the first dream you were panicked and then one of the songs is Panic. If so, I can relate to the sense of being overwhelmed and lost in a crowd--not known because I don't know myself.

The ones I see have never been all that interested in dreams. I do have recurring nightmares and when I told the woman about them during one bad bout, she said she wondered if they were because I did not think she was capable of helping. And although that is true, I know she is not capable of helping me, I have had those nightmares for years long before I ever hired her.
After she tried to make them all about her, I just quit telling her about them.

It probably is that simple!! It's just been so agressively redundant as dreams go. I just have multiple associations with the music. One being my friend that passed ten years ago and then Kashi indirectly. The lack of connection in my life seems like the obvious theme.

I think there's multiple things in dreams. I would hazard that you're doing well with Kashi for these things to come up. I had a song come up during my dream with the cupcakes which was very complex. It was sung by a guy I know sitting in a bath with no water in and all his clothes on - R.E.M - Losing my religion .....'" Oh , no I've said too much.....I haven't said enough. ". Well worth exploring what they tell and the armchair explorations are very insightful.

The cupcake dream was real?????

I am so sorry / happy for you / wanting to be inside your brain / etc.

GC -- it's kinda hard to tell from the songs (especially since I don't know the songs or their meaning to you) but I would maybe focus less on the details than just big picture stuff like what's your main concern in life in general, is there any aspect of the singer that speaks to that concern, blah blah. And, then just kinda take it slowly from there until you find an answer that feels like it "fits" in a deep way?
