       :sinking My T is leaving his practice . There will never be another like him. Dont know what i am gonna do now. i just feel sick.

Thanks everyone. The clinic will hook me up with another T.. not sure that is something I want to do at this point.
No he will not be practicing anymore right now. He's got 20yrs in as a T .. I have a feeling he is burned out a bit. He is one of the best ones there. And has had quite heavy load of clients. I cant blame him. But I will miss him something terrible. He was one of those T's that really paid attention to what you were saying along with body language etc. SO in sync of everything that came out of your mouth if you couldnt finish it up .. he could. Just how I would want to say it too. HOW DO YOU FIND ANOTHER LIKE THAT?!?!?!

Ask for his help in finding another T. Since he knows you well he would be able to help you figure out how to find what you need, where to look, what questions to ask...
That must have been so shocking to hear he's leaving the practice. I hope you find another wonderful T to see. |

((((sweetsunshine)))) I'm so sorry. I hope you have a few sessions left before he leaves for good, so you can at least get a little bit of closure. I hope you can get some good referrals from him. They could be a closer match to what you need (since he knows you so well) than what the clinic might try to assign.

Thursday will be my last session with T.
Dont know what to talk about with him now. Whether to reminisce about everything.. or to keep talking about stuff. To laugh or to cry...to say till we meet again or goodbye? I dont know what to do. Feeling lost here . There wont be anyone like him.. but I hope my next T is close. I really feel he's helped me. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers on Thursday. I will need your strength to draw from. Hugz Bethy

That's unusual/irregular for a T to leave so suddenly; I hope he's all right. I'd ask him a bit about it and see if you can find any anger in you about his leaving you like that and try to get some closure with him. Hopefully he will help you figure out what to talk about.

Ah, this is reminding me that one day my T is moving to another state.
I have no idea when though and doubt he'll tell me. I understand about feeling sick over it. I'm already there...

I totally get what you mean about not beginning with another T right away. You need some time in between, to honor and process your loss. But I worry about what support you will have, as I know you have a lot on your plate. Could you join some sort of a support group in the meantime? I mean IRL (LOL). I am so, so sorry. Will you be able to have any contact with your T after he leaves? Maybe emails? Phone calls?
