there's another one about a birth control med. and it's like- so ridiculous. i thought it was an SNL bit. but it wasn't. it was real

guess i should say good morning before i start ranting about medication marketing gimmicks

It's...really wooooaaahhh for me each time as a person living outside the USA to know that prescription meds are marketed so blatantly in advertising in the USA.

yeah. in every commercial block you are guaranteed at least 2 medication commercials

Yes, I've seen this one! It's a guy sort of joking about being "backed up" (or whatever term he uses), right? It does seem odd they're advertising for such a specific drug--and that they use an acronym for it, like most people would know what that means.

My H works writing messages to patients and providers for an insurance company, so he tends to be pretty critical of those commercials. Some are just so fake. The one where the person keeps talking about "My moderate to severe plaque psoriasis"--no one actually talks like that. They'd just say "My psoriasis" (or at least that's what my grandfather did!).

Opioid constipation is real, and I hope I never have it. TMI but my sister has to use colonoscopy prep stuff just to go. Sorry couch!

Hmm, we have this law here which let's drug companies choose... either they can show commercials for it, which allows health insurances not to pay for the drug (and therefore no one buying it) or they don't and insurance will pay for it.

Meaining that we only get commercials for simple cough sirup if anything

Oh, I'm not saying it isn't real, just that the commercial was kind of ridiculous. Sorry for what your sister has to deal with. I mean, I had some issues just in the week or so that I took an opiod painkiller after my C-section--they had me taking Colace with it, too.

I hate the Latuda commercials. The actors pretending to be Bipolar are ridiculous to the point of being offensive.

Well, I went for a run and now someone is coming to play his audition repertoire for me. But I don't want to see him. He has tried some iffy things with me too. Then L. Then I can curl up in a ball.

I used to curl up in a ball with T1 sometimes.

I never have, our shtick is pretty formal/traditional. I can't really picture it.

But with M I would make a blanket fort and hide in it, or beat up a pile of pillows with a baseball bat while screaming obscenities. Or of course, I could throw him..... obscenities optional.
