Hmm... maybe a recording of tumbleweeds? Or the sound of a pin dropping? That seems appropriate.
Thanks for this!

My exit music is the theme from The Magnificent 7 - where I ride off into the sunset. I will return to fight the woman another day.

From the end of that movie...“Only the farmers won. We lost. We’ll always lose.”

Do farmers = therapists?

Maybe you should be like Roy Rogers on Trigger instead? Happy trails...

I have been thinking about this since you posted - it is a difficult one for me, because I love music so much and am also a hobby composer. But in line with my earlier post on the "free association" thread, this came to mind:

It has nothing to with my race/culture, but it has to do with my interest in history in exploring different cultures and languages, styles of music also. Also general vibe of the music: I think I often come across as relaxed and dreamy like this, on first impression/surface.

When I was very depressed/confused/addicted/desperate, two versions of this:

More empowered:

Also, many different songs from Enigma/Michael Cretu, on the most "dark and mysterious" side.

These are some older/more known ones, but I could continue this maybe forever with both older and much newer songs. Fun thread!

ETA: I would probably rather submit links to these songs to my prospective Ts before our first real session though. See what they make of it?

No - the therapist gets wounded - perhaps not mortally, but wounded.
Perhaps Silverado? or Zorro? I defeat the cruel therapist Alvarado.
Or Snoopy versus the Red Baron.

Also the "Unforgiven" series by Metallica. Isn't it why many of us enter therapy, after all? For me, for the effects to be real, the videos should also be projected on the wall of the T room. Much like how I will likely to project them onto the T later, and vice versa.

I like "The Unforgiven III" best, not only because of the order in which the artists developed them...

There would, of course, be a whole light show, the singer, backup singers, the band as one enters.

I don’t know why therapists don’t offer this service. It would get past those awkward moments at the start of a session.

I think most of them can't really tolerate/hadle the light.

Ah. Then this supports my theory that they are vampires.

Because they also can’t examine themselves in a (metaphorical) mirror.

Nice choice, Cake....super-triggering for me, so I'm not going to take myself there...but it's a beautiful song, and very appropriate, I think.

I....uhh....don't think I've grown past age....I dunno....16 when it comes to rupture (of all kinds, therapy included) songs.

So, will go with Joy Division's Love will tear us apart -- a colleague jokingly said that after listening to it leak through my headphones for the better part of a day, he was inclined to just go home, lie on his bed and stare at the ceiling -- I barely bit back saying 'Welcome to my world'

I have dozens, hundreds of songs to represent my emotional states.

There are two entrance songs that I serm to be stuck on but trying to get past:

Creed
Torn

(Some real cuties in this band!)

Seether
Broken

Mine are so depressing lately.

Well, no. I meant the so called annoying erotic transference experienced and documented extensively by long haired females like myself.
