I'm just wondering here, I know most offices have couch with pillows but does your T have a blanket in the office? Do you use them? Do you use pillows?
And if you do, is it because you get cold, or because it makes you more comfortable, or something else? Or you would like to use it, but your T doesn't have one? |

T has a blanket. I never use it and if it's on the chair, I usually move it. I've seen her use it once - when she was cold. I've never used it because I'm a germaphobe and don't like the idea that others have used it. In addition, even if I knew it was clean (to my standards) I'd hate to use an object that's so accessible to others.

I used a blanket recently, because it was cold, felt a little odd at first but once I settled it was quite nice, with an added option of hiding if need be, although thankfully I didn't need to.

I saw a folded blanket in my T's office, but it's not in a play that invites use. I sort of wondered if it's a client's. Longtime T did have a blanket, but I'm not sure what happened to it. Might still be there, but I haven't noticed since she moved offices.

I don't think either of them did. I don't recall seeing any blankets. The awful couch had some pillows I avoided. I would have preferred a chair with no pillows or blankets. Neither of those items make me feel safe and I really don't think feeling all that safe around a therapist is a good plan to begin with.

There are no blankets, not pillows, and nothing else similar to such things in his office.
I wouldn't use them if there were any either, because I don't feel comfortable thinking about the fact that other people would use the same things. I do, however, bring my own stuffed animal that I frequently hold during sessions, it helps me calm down and feel safe. |

There's nothing in R's office.
I started bringing in my own oversized fuzzy cardigans which I draped around myself. It made me feel safer. |

I have never seen a blanket in my Ts offices. There were pillows. I used one pillow just to rest my hands on in one office. I do not associate safety and even cozyness with these items unless they are in my home, a hotel room, or any place where I rest on my own for a while.

No couch, no pillows, no blankets. For a while I brought a stuffed animal that I'd hug, and I had sessions at home for a while and I would sometimes take a pillow from the couch then.
A few years ago (2013) I would regularly move to sit on the floor and continue the session from there if I was really upset (and I was upset a lot at that time). After a few times that happened then-T brought in a Fatboy that had been laying around one of the other rooms in the building. I asked her about it once and she said I was the only one that used it. I like hugging stuff to my chest. I'd like it if my T's offices and pdoc's offices had pillows, but they don't. (I don't feel messed up enough again to bring my stuffed animal) If I still had two legs I'd probably hug my knees, but I have a prosthetic on my left leg and that makes for really awkward leghugging (meaning that my left leg, I'm basically hugging a piece of plastic (the socket) and I can't hug my lower (fake) leg because the angle of my knee is like 60 degrees or something when bent to the max, so I can't fold my hands around it). |

Most of them had a blanket around somewhere. Didn’t use it, though No. 1 tried to put hers around me once.
Info has a stack of blankets (all leopard-print) and a pyramid of pumpkin-shaped pillows. I can only assume that she builds blanket forts with some clients. |

t does have a blanket in her office, but it's laid across the couch like a couch-cover so I'm sitting on it. It's probably good that there's not one folded up anywhere or I might be tempted to grab it and wrap up in it and lay down and never leave.
ok now where did THAT thought come from??! |

Too many pillows, but she does have a blanket that she made into a bed for my dog.

My T has both pillows and a blanket in her office. I've recently started holding one of the pillows and she has offered me the blanket before (for comfort/ to reduce anxiety) but I declined. It felt a bit weird...

my T shares an office with another T, and so the stuff is the other T's and not mine. But, she has pillows (godawful ugly) and a blanket. Every week I go in, move the ugliest one out of my way, take the softest and less ugly one and put it in my lap. If it is an okay day, it just stays on my lap. Most of the time, I am curled up in a semi-ball with the pillow covering my face.
My T has mentioned that it is no fun talking to a pillow, but she says it jokingly. I have used the blanket once bc i was freeeezzinng. I felt weird taking it, but once I was all wrapped up I was like "yessss an even better way to hide!" |

My t doesn’t have pillows, cushions or blankets. He has no sand trays or anything that could be used to construct anything either. If he did have blankets etc, I wouldn’t use them as like many others have said, I don’t want to touch something that someone else has used. I think if my t’s room was full of those things, I’d have been put off immediately.

I have thought about bringing my own blanket, but never did. I am always cold, but niw its winter and I just wear my jacket if I get cold. There are pillows there, but most of the time, I push them aside, or sometimes have an arm on them. I think a blanket could be comforting to me, actually.

My T has a couch, a couple of pillows, and a blanket put away that she has pulled out and covered me with a few times. There is another chair in the office but I have never tried it. I think that one has a pillow on it too.

I have a blanket that lives in Ts office. I say office, but it's a converted building at the bottom of her garden so it can be a bit chilly, though she does have heaters. On cold mornings she will warm my blanket in front of the fire for me which I think is very lovely of her.

My T has several pillows and a couple of blankets scattered around the room. I've been hitting harder issues lately so I've actually grabbed the blanket nearest me a couple times. But, avoided it for a long time prior.

My T does not have blankets in her office. Even if she did, I would not want to use one. I feel like my Ts attitude is very serious and her office atmosphere feels quite formal. I feel like using a blanket would detract from my work with her. I just keep a bunch of super soft and warm blankets in my bedroom closet and pull one out to wrap myself in when I write in my journal at home on cold nights.

I have the feeling my therapist purposely doesn't have pillows in his office because people use them to hide behind.

Mine has a couple pillows on the couch, and a blanket folded on an ottoman. When my back was bothering me, I used to tuck a pillow behind me, but I rarely need that any more. Now I just move the pillows to the other end of the couch.
I wrapped up in the blanket once when I was dressed for the hot day outside and forgot my sweater for air-conditioned indoors.

No pillows, no blankets. Honestly, that seems...unsanitary, somehow. Which is weird, because I'm normally far from a germophobe (I eat food off the floor).
I feel pillows/blankets would be used a lot - far more than your usual decorative pillows/throws. I just picture one stranger after another picking them up, touching them, hugging them, stroking them, sniveling on them...Hell, literally dozens of people could touch them in a week! Eww!
