Does anyone have any good podcasts by psychologists that they would recommend?
Also, I’ve read a few people make reference to a podcast where therapists talk about love. Can someone point me in the right direction? |

this site has some decent podcasts that i have found interesting to listen too, especially the podcasts on attachment and one specifically called 'the dark side of therapy, recognizing when the therapeutic relationship goes bad'.

This one resonates with me. The T's are millennials- it is a younger voice than many podcasts but very genuine: https://betweenuspodcast.com

I saw Psychology in Seattle mentioned here. I've been enjoying that one a lot. I did become a patron so I could access some of the episodes, and it's been worth it.

Where Should We Begin w Esther Perel. They are MC episodes with names/identifying info removed, but the actual voices of the client. I am not in a relationship, and I still liked listening to them.
Between Us: A psychotherapy podcast: Ive only listened to 1 episode, but liked it. The Hilarious world of depression Mental Illness Happy Hour |

There's definitely points that rub me the wrong way but overall I think it's good. I do pick and choose the episodes that I listen to though and definitely don't listen to all of them.

I'll second Psychology in Seattle. I'm also a patron and it's definitely been worth it. He means it when he says he replies to patron emails.

I really really liked the episode on projective identification. He talks about it from an object-relations perspective, and it made me see certain patterns in my own behavior--both in life and in therapy. |

Looking for safety, protection, being cherished and loved can often be normal unmet needs in childhood, and the survivor searches for these in other adults. This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors. |
