Argo, I am very sorry to hear about your cat.

I just watched "Tuck Everlasting" a few days ago, and I wish I hadn't. At the end, I was like, wth just happened here??

Hm, does it necessarily have to be people you're friends with? Like could you go to some sort of group? Not sure if you have Meetups in your country. Or could you find something like...I don't know, an art class or yoga class or a talk on something that interests you to attend? So you'd be out among people?
Thanks for this!

I agree with the meetups thing, that's where I found my drumming group.

Yeah, has to be friends, or acquaintances (T has a very loose definition of friends while I'm a lot more selective) not strangers.

I quit peer support groups and Meetup groups some time back for a bunch of reasons.

I met all my current local friends and acquaintances through those groups actually haha. (omg 4 years ago, I didn't have any local friends OR acquaintances!)

Attending a class, going to a talk are all difficult because meeting strangers, travelling to places etc.

The homework is targeted towards my goal of deepening existing friendships / turning acquaintances into potential friends / getting closer to people.

Oh i meant, happening to just one person. But i didnt find a report of a new outbreak.

And, just because, pet peeve - millenials (cuz we always blame them!) who use "can" when they really mean "can't" - there are too many posts on these pages alone! I can list them all!

The not answering highlighted the difference between us. That he just wants to shut me out. That he has all the control and I'm just this helpless fool going through the pain of transference.
Have you tried telling him this, the reasons you're asking and how you're feeling? How even his answering one little not-too-personal question could mean a lot to you? Could you see if he'd be willing to share one random fact about himself, if he has a problem with those questions?

My T has dodged a few somewhat personal questions (like trying to figure out his political views and what kind of car he drives) but has responded to others (his son's age), plus he's volunteered specific things that help him when he's stressed, etc., so I don't feel completely shut out. And I know he likes coffee because he's drinking it pretty much every time I see him, no matter what time!

Hi couch. At hospital. Dr came in earlier and sat down, which right off scared me cuz he usually has stayed 40 seconds. He said my h has a strain of e coli that's ESBL and it's infectious and it destroys the antibiotics he was given and he'll be isolation and here another 10 days on different IV antibiotics. I am scared. And calling t right now to get her support too.

Oh no, Art, I'm so sorry...I'm glad you're reaching out to your T--hope she can help you. Wonder if she could get you in for a session, even if next week?

By the way, if it's infectious, is there any chance you or your son are at risk? You might just be carrying it, but it would be best to know.
Thanks for this!

H asked Dr that. He said it's contagious by contact and I have really only kissed h goodbye each day when I leave, no other contact like hugs or anything cuz of the IVs and stuff. He said it was most important that I take care of myself and don't get run down and more susceptible. H asked if I needed to get a blood test or something and he said no.

T was very helpful. I called and she had a few minutes so she really helped calm me down. Said it's ok to cry. And reinforced the need for good self-care. She said I could call over the weekend if I need to. I'll probably schedule a session for next week too.

This is so crazy, you guys. He feels so much better. But Dr said as the bacteria destroys the antibiotics, he'll get sicker again without the next new antibiotic that fights the ESBL.
