I hope hope things work out for you. I’m sorry you are going through a situation like this ( I’ve been there) especially when you think what did I do wrong? Did I upset them?? I am sending you some smiles your way

I heard from T this morning but he still ignored the main question that I emailed him with. I told him that I wanted to ask him why he was ignoring me yesterday but I didn’t want to make him mad.

Maybe he is tired of seeing me and I need to give him a break for a couple of weeks. I asked him if he needed a break from me but he hasn’t answered that either.

Your T has seen this pattern from you before, email (and expectation of a near immediate response), canceling appointments, feeling worse, asking for reassurance, and asking for appointments back). I am not saying these things are bad. Therapy makes I think most of us reactive, or over reactive. What helps me is trying to be less reactive and more intentional, and letting things sit until next session.

Hope, I think it is fantastic that you are able to see the pattern of behaviour (not hearing from T, getting frustrated, and cancelling the next appointment in response). That insight is super valuable and will allow you to notice when it happens again, and to make changes towards lessening the reactive behaviours. I hope you and your therapist can continue to do good work together. I see great improvement in you already!
Thanks for this!

I was upset today and cancelled my appointment that was scheduled for next week. I regret that but now I feel silly if I call the office back to reschedule.
What if he is? What would be your next move?
