I don't know. And I really really really don't want to know. At least with respect to my current t. I know that she never had children. So.

But I do not know.

I never saw my therapists as parental figures but one of them tried to handle it that way, which really irritated me. I did have a few mentors in the past that fit that role much better for me. I know therapists who admit that their work partially fulfills parental desires. Also many teachers and others in mentoring roles, even including myself in this in a way. I don't see anything wrong with that unless they somehow take advantage of the position, offer/promise things that they or the position is unable to provide, or force it upon clients who do not desire it.
