Yes, if you know what to buy.

I do this, too, only I don't do the buying. A guy I know does, then gives it to me and I do the selling. Kind of like a fence, except without all that pesky theft. He just does it as a hobby, though. He's an accountant most of the time.

I work in IT. Doing application support and some project management. I've gotten better at my work persona... I've generalised social anxiety which is quite severe according to the liebowitz social anxiety scale.

Knew a lawyer with social anxiety. Tough job.

All right, Couch: Beets, Yea or Nay?

I am pickling roasted beets for dinner. My fingers are purple.

I'm looking forward to sharing them with our exchange student. Most of our students have never seen a beet in their life. They either love them (rare) or very politely hate them.

Oh my goodness, you reminded me that we did have one VERY alarmed student, so now when we serve beets for the first time, I tell them that beets make EVERYTHING purple and hope that they figure it out.

I like roasted beets, pickled beets, raw beets etc. Beets in salad can often, in my opinion, be less intimidating than a big beet just sitting there. Beet texture, to me, is pretty much like other root vegetables.

Beets to me have no major objectionable characteristics. They dont have a surprising sour taste, or a hidden chewiness or crunchiness. Theyre even kinda sweet. I mean, theyre not like gristle, which has no redeeming value in my book - its just scary.

Well, shoot, una. I was going to invite you over for beets and gristle.

Darn. New game plan....

Sorry! Just thinking of things my parents would say, "this is good! Eat it! We wished we had this when we were poor!" Like chicken feet, pig skin. Now they just call it paleo

Beets taste like dirt.

I feel so demoralized right now. I don't want to do this DBT thing. For one thing, because of traffic, it took me 1 hr 20 mins to get there. It's only a 10 mile drive. What a total inconvenience for me. You have to do these DBT diary cards. Am I just being a petulant child because I don't want my life reduced to a chart full of numbers? Or to sit in a room for a weekly lecture about some skill I apparently am too clueless to figure out? Or then have to come back for a second group meeting to share how I've practiced these skills over the last several days? I'm really hurting, especially after today's particularly rough session.

It feels like my therapist is telling me there's something fundamentally wrong with me. My husband spent a lot of time and effort telling me there's something fundamentally wrong with me. I guess my past experience is coloring my view of this, but it is what it is.
