Couch 167 1/2; Tennis Anyone?

Hey couch! My cell phone died yesterday and I didn't have a charger w me sorry! H is here now n brought me one. Specialist was just here n said his educated guess is staph. I feel much better. Fever is gone since this morning. My face still looks horrendous, but he said that's expected as the bacteria breaks down or something. I tell you, looking like I do right now, makes me feel like maybe I don't normally look so bad after all.

I lost one flip flop of my favorite pair that I wear around my house. How does this happen? I have searched and searched, and it has mysteriously vanished. I suspect I will find it only when I buy a new pair. Such is life.

Piaf weirdly started the session by asking how I was, which she has never ever done before. Then back to her usual script: “What is on your agenda for today?”

ATAT: I don’t know, I thought you might want to talk more about the relationship.
Piaf (gazing at me in horror, long pause): Okay, go ahead.

At that point I had to tell her I was joking.

I don’t think she approves of my levels of exercise.

Just sayin, i think my dear sweet t would bite my head off if i did that to him. I have to signal that im joking. But then, so does he. Unless its realllllly obvious.

I’ve watched a couple episodes—the pig one and the game show (?) one. That was a while ago, maybe I should check back in. Especially since someone in my writers’ workshop compared one of my stories to the show.

I did grin at her at the end of my sentence. But I think we’re both bad at reading each other’s body language.

Oh, also this quote from her: “Emotional stability is not a prerequisite for becoming a therapist.”

I'm eating my desert in the hospital! They have great food here. I just hope I don't get too used to it haha

Piaf's quote re: emotional stability is incredibly apt. It's also exceedingly true. Most of my therapists have not been emotionally stable people.

I know! I dont know why people always complain about hospital food! Its hot, there are several different things at each meal, its portion controlled, somebody else cooks it, delivers it to you, and picks it up! What is not to love???

I feel your relationship is worth discussing. Not that it's any of my business.

Do they have any prerequisites at all?

So, I'm supposed to come up with 1, 2, possibly 3 and 5 minute versions of "Tell me about yourself" (for potential job interview questions and whatnot).

The general advice seems to be to say things that are not in one's resume and so on.

I am considering something along the lines of "I am highly driven to explode in utter rage even in seemingly benign situations, including the current one where I am being asked to answer inane questions as part of a charade that is called an 'interview'" (my high school English teachers I'm pretty sure are safe from SD's wrath).

P.S. Una -- Blondie has deep feelings about the emotional make-up (or the lack thereof it seemed in her estimation) of one of your boyfriends' countrymen (she did though immediately apologize that she was stereotyping -- I thought she was joking about all of it but it seems not; I suppose I have the opposite problem from ATAT -- I assume my therapist is joking when it seems she is not).

We spent two hours on it last week. On consecutive days yet.

I am pretty sure we both hated every minute of it.

AY—I would never assume Blondie was joking, especially if it was actually funny. She doesn’t seem the type.
