Wait...what? Can't kids sharpen their own pencils these days? And why on earth would she need 20 sharpened at one time? I feel so old and out of touch with what childhood is like these days.
Thanks for this!

Holy carp! By my late 1950's standards, who is rich enough to have 20 pencils?? You use one until it wears out. A short one is your backup pencil. If youre really flush, you might have a third medium length pencil.

I am speechless. This is how schools fail at teaching values.

I had a BLT on white bread. It was not good. The bacon was way over cooked.

I thought they used the juice from berries to paint on the cave walls back then.

That’s because the schools are so under budget and many students don’t show up with school supplies so then the teachers put out so much of their own money to cover the kids that don’t have supplies so I think when they make the school supplies list they ask for extra.
Thanks for this!

There’s a documentary on Netflix called “The Search for General Tso.” Apparently it’s not “authentic” Chinese food.

I love it anyway.

haha (cow/dinner comment) But yeah...it was pretty bad. The therapist friend even had the nerve to question why I would not do the particular kind of therapy she was pitching and then said, "Well, it's your business. Not mine." I said, "That's right."

I think I'm having my first proper rupture with T. I sent him a very nasty email last night and want to cancel my Tuesday session.

I think maybe that's the brand we have? We got a huge pack at Costco a year or two ago and still have 20 left!

Sorry about your rupture with T...maybe better to go talk to him Tuesday instead?
Thanks for this!

Yeah, I think I'm going to take SD's advice and see if she'll do them! They have this whole list of supplies they need and it's things like "5 glue sticks, 20 sharpened wood pencils." Clearly they won't need them all at once! On the plus side, Target had this thing where they had school supply lists linked to their site, so I could just order what we still needed online, then get free shipping since I have Redcard. Made it much easier than fighting the crowds.

I grew up in the neighborhood of a large Italian family (guess that's a little redundant) and right now I'm smelling chicken cacciatore, garlic bread, and green beans with stewed tomatoes. They made their own wine and even brewed their own rootbeer. And I would sit there and say I wasn't hungry, trying to hide the sound of my growling stomach. I want to go back and shake myself and say eat! eat! It's okay.

In other news my mom called this morning. I guess it has been a week or two since I talked to her she said that she had a weird virus that messed with her hearing, she didn't know it and thought it was her hearing aid going bad so went to her hearing aid place to have them check it and they said no it's fine, there's something else going on and sent her to their some kind of dr I forget what she said anyway he told her she had a virus (i don't know how they know this?) and put her on the strongest prednisone for her weight, to clear it up so it wouldn't affect her hearing. she felt pretty sick because well prednisone, but after those effects wore off she was completely fine her hearing is back to normal with her hearing aid. one of those really weird things.

I don't know what on earth possessed me but I told her about the co-dependent thing and that I've been going to CODA meetings for over a month now. Told her a little bit about where the co-dependency comes from and stuff. I wasn't going to tell her so I don't know why I did. Ugh. Oh well.
