It’s the s-sound in Greek, which should help remember summation.

Or if you’ve ever used Excel.

(I could bore you with the differences between three- and four-bar sigma, in Greek, not math, but sounds like you have enough on your plate. )

At least we have not yet discussed taxidermy and therapists.
Hey, I had a really fun time reading stuff in Greek thanks entirely to the statistics symbols I knew.

The seeming multiple uses of the H and the Y messed me up though.

And, some of the vowels.
Thanks for this!

That might be because the H is really an aspiration mark not a letter and the Y is upsilon, which could be ee or i or f or v, depending.

Unless by y you mean lowercase gammas?

ETA: and no one say it’s Greek to me. Come up with something original!

It's all exhankster to me.
(I minored in Latin as an undergrad, but never could do Greek at all. And I don't really remember all that much of the Latin anymore)

Couch 176: The happy cake couch

The results of last night's endeavors. I was up until 1:30 a.m. processing the jars. Today I am canning peaches since all of the canning stuff was out anyway. I have 75+ pounds of peaches in my kitchen. It smells heavenly in here!

I was trying to decide whether I am wisely keeping myself occupied, or whether I am letting being busy distract me. Then I realized that it's just canning season, and all the things need to be taken care of because the peaches aren't going to wait for me to figure out my *****.

Now I am trying to decide whether to make my boys a peach pie or make a crisp or some such.

No, gamma seemed straightforward — the capital Y was the issue.

Folks told me though that the small letters in relation to the capital letters can be non-intuitive.

“There is nothing original under the sun” per Ecclesiastes. So, it’s all.....Hebrew to me?

However, the ∆ symbol you see in chemistry textbooks is not a Greek delta. It is the alchemist's rune for fire.

Well, the Greeks got there first, so it's the Romans who got it wrong.

Couch 176: The happy cake couch

Just came out of the oven! I went out and picked some blackberries from over the neighbor's fence, so it's blackberry peach.

Seriously, daisy, thanks for the inspiration.
