I have been working on sexual abuse stuff with my therapist, but lately I've been having dreams that add something to my pre existing memory.
Like if I remember that ______ happened, and then they left the room, but in my dream they did ____and______ before leaving the room... My T has suggested that maybe these "dreams" are not based on memory, that theyre my mind playing tricks on me and those things didnt happen. but I am having very distressing body memories... I dont understand...is this a thing? to "make up" additional abuse memories? They feel so real... |

Since my therapist mentioned me being abused by my mother I have been having nightmares. In my dreams I am sexually abused and not by my mother and the abuse in my dream couldnt of happened because I was a teenager in my dream. I would of remembered and the person who committed the abuse doesnt exist. Dreams are tricky. I personally am to obsessive and doubting to find them credible. That's just me though.

So what do you think the dreams are based on? Did yours feel like other dreams youve had? mine feel like memories...sometimes they're fragments though...like pieces of a movie reel. its not always linear... |

I just think it's a dream because we are talking alot about that subject. We dream what is thought about during the day. Nothing more nothing less.
