I am mindful of the rules around talking about other members so in general terms, are there any other Ts on this forum whom you would hire? If so/not, why?
There is only one forum user who I think has a T I would see. It's a female T too which is quite surprising to me because I've never considered a female T.
Thanks for this!

The only way I know to choose therapist is to sit down with them and talk. We get one side of the therapy picture here, and how a therapist might work with one individual doesn't necessarily translate into how they might interact with a different client, a different personality, a different set of issues, etc. There are therapists that are written about here that seem similar to the type of therapist I know I work well with, so perhaps it would work but who knows? There are others I wouldn't even sit in the same room with because I know their approach/theoretical lense is too far from what I am comfortable with, or I don't feel their age or experience level would be what I look for in a therapist, etc.
Thanks for this!

Yes, I'd at least test out my pc friends T. He seems similar to mine but also a bit different

I don’t know if I’d “see” her, plus I guess she’s retired now, but I want to meet “the woman.”

Anyone who wants Info is welcome to her. I’ll throw in her required tanning bed for free.

Are we allowed to say which T? There is one forum member's T I would like to see- maybe two. ( Although I wouldn't give up my covered in fur doggie to do so )

Yeah, there's a few. Some out of morbid interest.

I don't know whether she is active any more, but there's one person whose T I would like to have a session with.

Some other Ts sound like I could work with them, but it's hard to judge only from written stuff.

Ditto! I am so intrigued as to who he is because you mentioned that he has written books, I might have read him. He also sounds very lovely.

Mouse's too because she used to (maybe still does?) send her a photo when she goes away on a break and signs off her emails with "love".

No. None of them have sounded compelling to me and quite a few sound like nightmares. I might could have tolerated a couple at least as much as the two I did hire, but most sound either too touchy feely empathicy or too condescending and authoritarian. Mostly I don't think any of them know what they are doing and generally they just stab and hope.

There have been a couple but I dont remember whose. But they seem to have patient, compassionate and caring female therapists. That is what I look for in my Ts.

I have the same answer. I can think of only one person's T.

Why not? It's related to the issues I always talk about-enmeshment and sense of self. It's related to my trauma and PTSD (example-the other person doesn't see me as a person because they are projecting or objectifying which is related to serious harm.)

I have to be very selective as i get triggered easy. I can't see a T who didn't have analytic therapy. And I've tried to go that route a number of times due to availability and other constraints.

But a good number of people don't post about their conflict or details, so there could be others out there.
Thanks for this!

I wouldn't mind a few sessions with several T's on here ( bit like therapist speed dating ) and some I would be morbidly curious about too. A woman T didn't work for me but one woman T I would like to see is Art's.

LonesomeTonight's current T quite stably, the T that provokes all that discussion and polarization on this forum.

I've never felt any other Ts on this forum appealing to me beyond some usually momentary and superficial aspects. Yours, Echos, also sometimes but mostly for the creative/artistic ways he engages with you, that's something I love... but would not be challenging enough for me.

I would maybe also hire stopdog's T scrutiny process.
Thanks for this!

Nobody's t comes to mind. Some people seem to have good ts but they aren't working on the same things as me so it's hard to say.

Don't really see enough of how other therapist actually work to make an informed decision. So on that I'd say no. Not one.
