My therapist is going away next week for Thanksgiving (we'll still meet on Monday). I don't want him to go. I'm being pathetic, but I'm going to miss him. I also have two vacation days next week, so that's not helping either. Basically a 4-day weekend with nothing to do. Not looking forward to that at all.

You're definitely not being pathetic NP.

If the vacation dates won't help could you use them at another time?

Not really. They're company-wide vacation days. I could come to work. I have a badge that gives me 24 hr access to the building, but it's weird being here all alone.

H's colonoscopy went OK--thanks for the wishes! Didn't realize they were going to put him fully under--he seemed pretty woozy afterward. Did an Upper GI thing too and took a couple biopsies to be safe, but doc didn't seem too concerned. H is very happy to be able to eat solid food again now (was on liquid diet yesterday and no food today).

I've seen three colonoscopys done- they're relatively uncomfortable and painful so it's good it was under general.

I can get why it would be weird, but who would know if there was no one else there!?

It's not the same thing, but I don't know what to do with myself, when I don't have something to study for. I start studying anything.

My least favorite test. Have to have them done every two years since my sister and mother both had colon cancer, and they always find precancerous cells in mine. Hate the prep although GI doc finally found a prep that I can tolerate without getting violently ill so the last one wasn't terrible actually. The procedure isn't a problem since they put you under. Recovery is usually quite easy IF they use the right technique so I don't get horrible cramping from how they inflate the colon -- also something this new GI doc told me he would prevent from happening and he did. Kind of love my new GI doc.

Your H is lucky - when I had an EGD and colonoscopy about a year ago, whatever medicine the doc gave me didn't work. I was wide awake for both. The colonoscopy wasn't bad but the scope into my stomach was horrible. The doc told my husband that I was a rock star who wasn't the least bit sedated. Needless to say I won't be using this doc again

Ugh, that sucks you have to do them every 2 years. Glad you found a good GI doc!

Yikes, that sounds awful! I don't think I could tolerate a scope into my stomach without being out or at least heavily sedated.
Thanks for this!

The forklift keeps backfiring at work and I can hear it in the office. It's so loud, I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack each time. Kit.

I saw my allergist today. He used his little light to look in my nose and ears, then complimented me on how “extremely clean” they were.

Do people not keep those areas clean?
Thanks for this!

There are dr pimple popper sites, but for ear canal cleaning out. The good one is a british one where the dr comes back and does a voice over. It is sooooooo gross. The indian one is not bad, but its just visual.

Well, Lemoncake, it seems like this couch is begging for research on ear hygiene. Just sayin'.
