I think it depends on how the T operates. Some believe in client-led sessions/therapy, so they wouldn't bring something like that up until you did. (My T isn't like that and will bring up things he's thinking, though maybe not right away. It's a different style that wouldn't work for everyone, but I find it helps me.) I'd suggest asking your T about it--maybe he's waiting for you to bring up other topics, too, but would be willing to share if you asked. |

I love shelties. There was a couple in the retirement village i used to work at whose son bred them. I also like miniature schnausers. i like most dogs, to be honest sorry meant to say glad she is doing better.

I often told L that she was fearless in the things she would bring up in sessions. They definitely have different styles and stuff.

We had a miniature schnauser when I was young. Her name was Dutch (my dad refused to let us give her a female name haha) but she was a sweet dog.

I think mine is largely led by me but will drop in pebbles and follow up or not depending on my reaction. Also I once gave her a list of 'things we shall not talk about' and she occasionally touches on something from that and sees what my reaction is. I am beginning to see that it desensitizes me and we have longer and longer convos about the issue. Although some are still verboten. |

Just spoke to my dad. Today he moved into his assisted living apartment. He’s 88 and it was time. His mind is still sharp as a tack, but he’s not as steady on his feet as he used to be and he tuckers out pretty easily. It’s a mixed bag for him I know. He sent me pictures of the apartment. He took over the artwork that means most to him, and hanging by his bed are two photographs: their wedding picture from 1952 and that last formal picture they had taken I think about a year before Mom died. It’s a nice little apartment; pretty roomy actually, and very handicap-safe. I think he’s at peace with this change and I know we are all relieved he’s in a place that will allow for more social interaction and safety measures. Dealing with aging parents has been one of the most painful parts of life. We have been very fortunate in that minds are good and their health has been remarkably good for their age. Mom didn’t get sick until three months before she passed and Dad seems to be on the same track so far. My sister and I are thankful Dad was able to make all of these decisions for himself; that makes the change much easier for him.

One of my best friends is a med tech at an assisted living place, she loves her residents to pieces and feels like she has a whole bunch of grandparents. She's so good for them and spending time with them is so good for her too.

When my Grandpa passed he had been living in assisted living for about a year and a half, and a bunch of the staff came to his funeral. I felt like he was in a place where people really cared about him. Kit

Thank you for you positive stories. He’ll be provided all of his meals, laundry service, cleaning service, eventually medication services, etc. when he needs that kind of help (he’s not there at this point). The house, even though it was modest, was just too much isolation for him. It was a ways out of town, and while my sister lives in the same town, she teaches full time. My nephew had set up some cameras around the house so he could check on Dad if he wasn’t answering his phone or something but this will be much safer. I’m glad he’ll be sort of forced to socialize a couple times a day at meals; he’s prone to isolation (Mom was the social butterfly all those years).

My dogs and I used to visit assisted living residents every week for many years. They loved the dogs and my dogs loved them. Some of the people really lit up when we visited, I am always so thankful, to have been a part of their lives, even though they never remembered my name, they always remembered my dogs and that to me, was amazing.

I'm trying so hard to hang in there today. H and I have to go to Kohls tonight to buy him an outfit fornhis grandma's funeral tomorrow morning. I think the kids need an outfit too. I'm not sure the protocol for what kids should wear to a funeral. Still haven't called T for support. When I think about calling, either my H or my father are nearby and I wouldn't be able to talk. Funeral is at 10am tomorrow morning.

H wants me to sell my arts and crafts on Etsy. I just never think they're good enough. Some blankets won't make any money because I use good yarn.

Very nice! I took up crocheting a year ago. Currently I’m working on a massive Hufflepuff color-themed afghan for my youngest son in chunky blanket yarn. It’s going to weigh a hundred pounds. LOL! He wanted it huge and he’s already 6’3” so it is massive. Should be great when it’s finished though; I’m kind of falling in love with this blanket yarn. So far I’ve just made blankets with color requests from the recipients. The green one was for me - my first one. The red and blue is my husband’s: he wanted Houston Oiler colors. Your wish is my command. LOL! The pastel multi-color I just finished for my daughter-in-law. That’s her and my son in that picture.
Maybe Etsy is an actual idea for you. You could sell your crochet products in your own Etsy store. |

Thats what you state in the description that you use quality yarn and let the price reflect that. Charge for yarn + hourly rate. People are willing to pay for quality.

I finished my grad school application, the last bit was my statement of purpose, and I submitted it.
I almost decided not to, since I have no way to pay for it, but I figured...hey, if I'm not going to grad school next year it might as well be because I tried and couldn't make it work instead of because I didn't try.
