Oh good lord. You are braver than I - I would not be able to continue on with a book that used those sorts of phrases in a non-ironic/non-sarcastic way.

I would suggest an oreo compromise - give up the abominable ones and stick with the classic - two chocolate wafers with the normal -not excessive -creamy white filling

No worries. It had been years since I'd had some. They're really addictive and they have so many flavors now. I really like the roasted garlic ones.

My dog baby playing with his favorite toy from his Christmas haul. He is actually quite smitten with it... the last three nights, he's brought it to bed and subjected it to his amorous advances (not shown in the video).

Good night everyone. I’m turning in early for the night.
I won’t say Happy New Year because so many of you are struggling. I will just say that my wish for all of you is peace and happiness ahead. In my time time zone- 2019 is 57 minutes away. See you all tomorrow.

I just had to quit. The first chapter completely bought into the Great Goddess theory, the arguments for which from an archaeological, historical, and literary perspective are pure and utter crap. Even my freshmen can spot the holes before I tell them what they are.

Why do we need tv shows that are just compilations of youtube clips with stupid narrations?

@NP_Complete:

If you could get someone to empty your garage you could repaint it or put your own stuff in there or otherwise make it yours. Maybe you could have some psychic cleansing ceremony? Turn it into a ladycave. But emptying it is the first step, and as Una says, there's no reason you have to do that youself.

Because your eyeballs needed the exercise?

Yup. I bought mustard because LT mentioned it. Oreos too.

And Echoes bought treacle cake when we were talking about treacle- such is the power of the couch.

Ugh. When you are a security guard at a hotel and have the night from hell - which included calling the police 3x. Happy freaking New Year. I don't understand why people cannot behave.

Morning couch. I went to bed early last night because well, still working overtime and that includes new years day. I woke up to snow!! Wah! That cold white **** needs to stay up in the mountains. Here it is in my backyard just now. Yeah, I know I shouldn't ***** cuz it barely sticks and never lasts once the sun comes up but. I want you to know I stood out there and let it snow on me to take this pic haha!

Writers of the couch: has anybody ever used a Tarot deck for writing inspiration? I just ran across an interesting article on doing this. I would imagine this would be helpful for those times when you get stuck... I haven't done this yet but I'm going to give it a try. I do have one tarot deck that I've used with my shamanic practice so I'm all set. It mentions a tarot app too. This might prove interesting.

Thank you for the photo Artie. Lol you're lucky it's not heavier.

I haven't used the cards for writing, but I think it would be interesting to try it and see how it turns out!

Art, I find my best ideas come from reading—books, the news, etc. Invariably I run across something that makes me wonder, “what if...?” and that is the genesis of the story.

Right now I’m working on a story inspired by a book in which a reporter walked the length of the Nile and along the way

Possible trigger:

Also people-watching is a good source of ideas.
