I never could get used to the commercial soy or almond beverages -but when I make my own I like them on their own or in smoothies and some places where I am not expecting actual milk. So I could make a chia seed banana almond drink smoothie but not put almond liquid in my coffee.

I have the mother of all migraines today. I took imitrex around 3 this morning and just took another one a little while ago. It's just not going away. I'm sitting in my office without the lights on and the blinds shut but it's still kind of bright. I'm starting to feel nauseated. This is day two or three of migraines. What a pain. Obviously, I'm in a not great mood, but still hugs for the couch if anyone wants one! Kit

My oncologist will only write a letter for me to get 6 weeks off--not the whole semester. Grrrrr. So now my chair and I need to think of things for me to do, because I'm not teaching any classes.

Nutritional yeast tastes good, but it doesn't taste cheesy to me.

As for other products, I've had some pretty good meat substitutes. Granted, many of them are not like meat at all, but some are pretty similar. I have been a vegetarian for 17 years. However, there have been a couple times when I was served meat in restaurants and took a bite without realizing - like I received regular lasagna instead of spinach lasagna, or my burrito had chicken added when it wasn't supposed to. So I haven't been completely unsullied for all those years, and have been reminded what meat tastes like. I also cooked meat regularly for my previous dogs, so I am very familiar with the textures of various meats.

I have a soymilk maker, but making soymilk is incredibly time consuming! Straining the milk is messy and laborious. I really only do it when I want to make tofu. Homemade tofu is delicious - much tastier than store bought stuff. However, the yield is pretty small in comparison to the amount of soymilk used, so I don't make it often since making soymilk is such a pain. When I want soymilk for other purposes, I find unsweetened Silk suitable. I'm not a huge fan of almond milk since it seems a bit lacking in nutrition (I guess it has some added vitamins and minerals), but I sometimes do half soy and half almond if I'm trying to reduce calories. I'm interested in how fresh almond milk tastes - I don't think the store bought kind tastes much like anything.
Thanks for this!

Research? Reports? Grading? Tutoring? What are your options?

Research, yes and we need an online course for a remote site so I guess I could design that. I also do program assessment for the department so there's that.

So I sent another email to explain that I didn't mean that she hurt me, just I feel pain from not having her in my life anymore and it is difficult. I don't know. I may have just muddied the waters more. It's been 5 days since the original email, which rationally I know isn't a lot, but she used to respond pretty quick when I was her client. So, I'm worried she is in the hospital or something. I think the non-response is adding to or perhaps causing my anxiety today. If I were stronger, I just wouldn't email. It would be perhaps less painful. But I do really want her opinion on how my therapy is going with new T and how to cope with the pain of not seeing her. So I'm stuck. And it's painful. And I'm anxious. Great. Just great. Kit
She may not want to comment on how your therapy is going with your new therapist. Some therapists would feel like that was interfering in you building trust with the new therapist and your personal agency. I'm not saying I subscribe to that notion, just that I think some therapists don't want to provide any input on former clients' current treatment. She may not know how to respond, or may be thinking over her response very carefully.

Thanks Susannahsays. I've thought about that too. It might be the case, and if so, she will probably (eventually) respond to the rest of the email and then address that she doesn't want to address that part of the email. It took her six days to respond last time--about a month ago--to a shorter email which was just me whining about how I missed her. And it is now six days from the original email so she might be thinking, or she might be sick and unable to respond right now, or she may not respond at all (which will be painful). I appreciate your insight and willingness to share it with me! I hope she responds soon but if not, at least I have friends here at PC to support me. Thanks again! Kit

I've also decided to go around the place where lots of my trauma happened tomorrow, if anyone wants to pocket ride I'd be very glad about it.

I'm working, sort of. I finished my work this morning so I'm basically "here" if someone needs me and in between laying my head on the desk and surfing PC.
Thanks for this!

I love Goulash! Well, it's been changed so many times that it might not be Goulash anymore, but I still love it! My favorite meal actually.
