So I went today. Thought I'd go back to Thursday as well.
But T said "im trying not too work Thursdays now. What's wrong with Mondays and Wednesday?"

So these are the days I will do.
I asked T if she's going into semi retirement?

She said "well, I'm not taking on any new clients now. Plus I have some in supervision that when their courses finish they will leave also"

Then she quickly added "and I'm not pushing anyone to leave and I'm never going to ask you to leave, unless I get to a point where I can't remember you"

To which I replied "I may reach that stage first lol"

But yeah,, the words "I am never going to ask you to leave" are in my mind and giving a warm glow.

She's a cool woman. When she starts something, she dam well sees it through.

Is your t a fan of mentalizing? Is that how she comes up with this stuff that relates so directly to YOU? Its a step beyond what anybody else here reports, IMO. My t will recite some rote lecture on some psych theory if i push for it, but your t goes jessica + psych = jessych 🤯 (in a good way).

She never uses terminology. She uses very simple down to earth language. I think because of her involvement with children with special educational needs, she's attuned to putting things in the most simplest way possible so that it can be heard above all the internal static.

Eta - like your Incalculable thread. She REMEMBERED (big one there!) but not just remembered what a parent did. She assimilated it, she processed it, she FIGURED OUT its effect on you and WHAT YOU ACTUALLY DO because of it. No human t does that.

Eta 2 - THAT is the process i am wondering is peter fonagy's "mentalizing". Its a british thing, not to much an american thing, AFAIK.

Eta 3 - sorry to be pestering you! I read about mentalizing about ten years ago, and i remember scoffing about it to my t saying, "isnt that just 'doing it right?'" I should have listened to myself back then!

Thats how she does, it. She feels it first then expresses it.
