I don't really know anyone who prefers eating, movies etc alone.... I think people like to be more social but ok...

I know of people who like to do things alone. I prefer doing any number of things alone myself.
It is not something I would consider rare at all.

I think what some people don't like is doing activities alone with other people in groups around them (such as eating at restaurants or watching movies in theaters). I don't like going to the theater alone, but I do like my alone time at home.

There are a lot of things I enjoy doing alone but I never thought I would be more alone married with a son than I was when I was single... although eating alone has never been my thing.

I somehow managed to give myself a headache and sore shoulders this afternoon working, trying to work fast because I kinda goofed off this morning when I wanted to be outside instead. Oops. I got caught up but now I want to sleep!

can't wait to get my new glasses in about 10 days. that will help my tired eyes.

it's spring break at school, so i don't have to do any homework this week. woohoo! I will probably start on the next module tomorrow evening just to get a jump start but this evening, h is out with his friends that are in town visiting, they played golf this afternoon and are probably headed to dinner right now. so i have the house to myself. sounds like a hot bath by candle light and early to bed for me kinda night!

I've never sat down in a restaurant by myself to eat. It's not on my bucket list. I don't like shopping by myself either. And I don't know anyone irl like me.

Info fashion report: cold shoulder black flowing cape/blouse splashed with large brightly colored tropical flowers open to reveal lacy burnt orange cami with her trademark cleavage.

Distressed pants with holes at the knees again, but also somehow designed so they looked like inside out sweatpants.

I loved her sandals—intricate leatherwork on three straps with decent heels—and I lust for them, but I couldn’t figure out how to ask if I could take a picture of her feet so I could find my own pair.

Info's pants description

Can you ask her where she got her shoes from, or the brand?

I do that when I'm away on business. But not by choice.

Start a thread? Like, a poll on how sexy does your therapist dress?

I don't mind eating alone and I prefer shopping alone.
It is good to have a mix of types.

But you are sui generis.

Lots of people with social anxiety like me hate eating in front of others. Alone is good.

I love these womens magazines articles quizzes that pretty loudly imply something is wrong with you if you EVER eat alone. Do mens magazines tell men that? Or does anybody tell men that?

One, yeah i was raised this way, and two, unless youre a conjoined twin, eating as a group requires scheduling.

Alone is bad for my social anxiety. I feel singled out, and like I'm subject to everyone's attention. Even though rationally I know that isn't true, my hind brain screams every person in the restaurant is looking at the fat lonely girl pigging out alone and friendless. When I'm with someone else my attention is on one, not many.

Hey, sounds like I need therapy or something!

I just stick my nose in a book or my phone.

But I feel that way when I’m a woman alone at a baseball game. I think people must wonder if I’m just there to ogle the young studs.

Someplace else I never ventured out to alone. Wow, I should work on this in personal development. I'm hardly a child, it's about time for me to grow up and face a few fears.

The couch is good for navel gazing tonight. Thanks for everyone's perspectives and tips, I might put some to use.

I guess I could start bringing my service dog out with me again... but then I feel guilty eating in front of him... and they always sit me at the bar (really... cuz a bar is REALLY where an alone married chick wants to be right?) and he is not old enough to drink yet.
