Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.

Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely.

This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means.

It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends.

We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("T") - we speak from experience.

Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread.

Grab a cushion, a spot on the floor, or an armchair in the corner and make yourselves comfy!

Last night I dreamed that Leticia and R (high school teacher) were doing some kind of experiment and Leticia covered me with a blanket and then after I fell asleep she laid down next to me and held me while R took notes.

My head hurts.

Thanks for the new couch.

I got up at 6 today but I’m off work today so today will consist of cleaning my home and doing some laundry. Wow I really know how to have fun on a day off, eh? I also have to get some groceries. I didn’t do enough meal prep this weekend to keep me out of the drive thru lines so that’s on the list today as well. It’s also extremely cold today. The high is 32 but windchills are going to make it feel like 20 today. After today, I have work the rest of the week. I’ll be 40 on Saturday and just not feeling it. I wanted to actually try something different this year and celebrate my birthday but I’m kind of just tired of this winter and want to hibernate. Maybe H and I will get dinner somewhere I’ll allow myself 1 glass of wine but that will probably be the extent of it.

I thought turning 40 was great. I think being older is great except for not being able to read without glasses and my body not recovering from physical injury as quickly.

Yes, I like being older too. I never miss being real young. I don’t have a problem with actually turning 40. I’m fine with that. I’m just not fine with where I am at in this stage of my life. I have to work on that internally.
Thanks for this!

I read it as lazy career.
It seems a group discount on an ophthalmologist might be in order.

This is why I hate birthdays. So I get it. I'll be 37 this year, it depresses me as much as any other year for this reason but personality wise, I'm basically "old" so aging doesn't bother me, it fits me in some ways

I think I'm coming down with a stomach bug or something. The longer I've been sitting here working this morning the more nauseous I feel and getting a headache for real now.... ugh I want to call out sick and go back to bed but I won't cuz we're still on overtime... I shall drink hot tea and soldier through....

Baby T talked about me getting back into photography. Tried to encourage me to take snow pics and take the camera out again etc... my T told me that sometimes things you once loved, never become interests again and that's ok. I like that better. I didn't like the pressure baby T tried to give. Although he said it's more of a challenge and I don't have to, like no kidding lol.

I just don't think you can force yourself to love photography, you either do or you don't

Did you love it at one time though? Or at least like it? Maybe just try doing it for a little bit, even like a half hour, no commitment. I think both what your T and Baby T said are right--it's worth seeing if maybe you'd like it again, but if you don't, that's OK, too. And maybe it's something to revisit periodically.
Thanks for this!

I did, when my dog was alive. He was my best model and the most fun subject. Since he past, I've just lost interest. I take pics on my phone sometimes but not with my camera. I've actually debated selling the camera for some extra money, I just don't see the love coming back.

I have had a lot of hobbies through out the years. Some continue and some fade out. There are a lot of things to choose from and try.

At the moment the only thing I'm watching semi- religiously is my 600 pound life and I can totally see the comment you made about Dr now watching season 7 before season 2. He looks sooo young.

I'm watching this 1998 documentary now though: Too much Too Young - Dispatches Ch4 - (Why British primary schools fail their children)

I hope you're feeling a smidge better. Can you do the work in parts, maybe go to bed now and get it done later?

Thanks! No, I don't think so.... my team is kinda under the radar right now because of having to work so much overtime to keep up with our workload. If they'd fix the system issues that slow us down (they are the reason I'm on here so much, while waiting for my screens to change) we likely would not need so much OT.
