Americans work too much. Too many employers act like having a body that occasionally requires maintenance is a bad or avoidable thing. God forbid you need a nap or even a vacation.
Thanks for this!

I’ve been watching My 600lb life as well. It’s helping me keep from feeding my body total crap. I also wrote an apology letter to my body for feeding it crap for so long. So between WW, my 600lb life, an apology letter to my body and realizing I couldn’t keep going the direction I was going is all helping me.

No truer words spoken. Yes, we are overworked, and many of us are way underpaid. And half the time it is a crime to need a day off.
Thanks for this!

Can you raise this issue with the head or CEO of the company?

(I've watched too much undercover boss.)

Good Morning Couchies! Trying to help my boss today with her short term disability claim. I've never personally been on short term disability so I don't know how much help I am being. And trying to help my employee with his out of network insurance claim. On the other hand, I just got my hospital bill for when I had to get stitches. $250.00 Not bad. I was expecting more. So I sent the check in today. I will feel good when that's done, and when I get my taxes done which will hopefully be this week. Then I won't feel like I have this stuff hanging over my head. Hugs Kit

Email just received from R:

Dear S,

I admire your honesty, however, if you only spent half as much time applying yourself to therapy as you do to acting out, you’d be in a much better position.

Best regards,

R
Backstory.

I gave him a present for his birthday which he said was too much ( a gift card for X amount ) and that he would give it back to me. He has previously accepted a gift card that has been of higher value). So thursday's session was a mess and I cried for the rest of it. I did skip friday's session and said that I needed more time and wanted to see him next week instead of tomorrow.

I feel like telling him to arrange our termination session a month out.

Ugh. I have a migraine. I just want to lay on the floor in my office with the lights off and shut out the world.

It’s exaxtly like that. The guy I watching yesterday went to the fast food place and I sat here hiding my face at the amount of stuff he ordered. So then I was able to see. For every value meal..it’s one step closer to THAT. And I’m not going to let THAT happen to me.

Change is hard. I'm a huge comfort eater, so can really empathize. I told my brother that I could be on that show.

A song by the legendary Micheal Bublé that stirs up my parent issues:

Tempted to send stupid R the second one.

trigger for weight/numbers
Possible trigger:
I'm really proud of myself that so far anyway, through this sexuality stuff/my marriage issues/leaving therapy I am eating healthy for the most part (still have ice cream sometimes, but I even it out) and have not started gaining again. That's actually rather amazing to me.

Lemon, how is "acting out" not part of therapy? What does it mean to you that you want to give him extravagant gifts? Super weird that he would say something kind of shaming like that. Or am I misinterpreting?
Thanks for this!

I didn't want to say this but it was a £20 amazon gift card, along with a book "the little prince, chocolate and a lego key ring. For his last birthday it was exactly the same thing, but a different book and chocolate brand but the giftcard value was £10 and minus the keyring. But I have given him a £30 gift card for Christmas '17 with chocolate. So this present thing isn't new.

For me I like picking out presents and it gives me something to look forward too. But I only buy for my siblings and not my parents.

I told him that I was hearing that I was too much.

I skipped friday because I did feel huge amounts of shame and humiliation- that I was stupid for going through so much effort, I only spent that much because I decided I wouldn't get him an almost father's day gift.

Artie you've made so much progress! If you keep at it I know you're gonna make it girl!

EDA:

"Pretty woman, walkin' down the street
Pretty woman the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman I don't believe you, you're not the truth
No one could look as good as you, mercy"
