Ex-T would never give me a set time--she said it was because she also saw biweekly clients, so wouldn't be fair to them (???). It was frustrating, because she usually only had one slot available when we'd go to schedule. So if it didn't work for me, I was stuck. Once she forgot to leave a spot for me, and that really hurt. Occasionally I'd schedule a couple weeks ahead, if I knew I wouldn't be available on a particular day (she only worked 3 days a week). So I understand that frustration.

My current T doesn't have standing appointments for me (I see him twice a week), but he keeps my usual slots open for me, unless he has a conflict. We schedule on Mondays for the following Monday and Thursday, and he'll usually say "I kept 12:30 open for you--is that good?" Which I really appreciate. Today I do have to see him later than usual because he had something going on at that time (don't think it's another client), but that's fine. I work from home and am flexible.

With ex-marriage counselor, for maybe the first...6 months? We didn't have a set time. Then one time he was like, "Does this time usually work for you?" And he put us in the calendar for the next year (we could always change if needed). Which was nice, especially since H could put it on his work calendar as recurring meeting.

I don't have a set day or time with my current T. Sometimes its two, three, or four weeks between seeing her. I would appreciate a same day, same time kind of thing, but apparently she works at two agencies and she is only at this agency two days a week I think. She does some evenings at this agency but I can't do 7:30 PM appointments because I'm usually in bed at 8 PM. So there's a lot of scheduling conflicts with her that I don't appreciate. Plus I think they mainly assign new people to her so her schedule constantly is booked for whatever week the staff first tries to book me for. It's really frustrating. But she does take my insurance.
