Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.

Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely.

This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means.

It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends.

We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("T") - we speak from experience.

Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread.

Grab a cushion, a spot on the floor, or an armchair in the corner and make yourselves comfy!

I named the couch "Rainbow cupcake" because I could use something happy and sweet today.

It's fairly low-grade, but...also if they send her home today with a fever she won't be allowed to go in tomorrow, I think. I feel like we should keep her home today to rest. I was the one who was up with her a bunch of times at night when she was calling out...

Hm...you know, this is suddenly reminding me of my mom, who generally made me go to school and do other stuff if I was sick and didn't tend to take "not feeling well" as an excuse. Sigh.
Trust your gut instinct and let D stay home. It's awful to go in when you're not well in the first place and some of the other kids may also not have good immune systems.

I'm so worn out over the events of yesterday. I was so stressed out about my kitty cat going to the vet. Now I'm practically sleeping with my eyes open. HUGS Kit

Nah, it's just a missed session. He let me know last week that he had some other thing for today. Who knows what. We have a check-in phone call scheduled for Sunday though. I just wish I didn't feel like a shaken up snow globe lately. Sigh.

How is Lemoncake doing? I haven't noticed you posting much lately.

We did, and it was definitely the right decision. She's basically been just lying around all day (watching TV, playing with Kindle Fire, etc.), which is very unlike her. H took her to the doctor's, and they said it's just viral (but not flu, likely a cold), to just give her ibuprofen (slight fever) and fluids. She may be home tomorrow, too. I think I may be getting it now, so good I opted not to shake T's hand earlier (was afraid I could be contagious).

@NP_Complete - I don't like that you're feeling that way, but I like your shaken up snowglobe analogy.

Meanwhile, I am still trying to figure out the Jenga thing. Would it be helpful, and if so when?

Wow, this couch is a hoppin’ Yay for sprinkles! I need to clean my room but sitting on the couch sounds more fun.

Thanks, Kit! D actually did a bit of running around earlier, which is much more like her. It didn't last too long, but better than total lethargy.
Right now, I'm more dealing with emotions from, of all things, watching the men's NCAA (college) basketball tournament. Because it's something that I associate with ex-MC. Because he was really into college basketball. And one year we had the same Final Four picks in the bracket. And another year the advice he gave me led me to win the pool that year. Plus his alma mater was in the tournament, but got eliminated earlier today (which was weirdly gratifying for me). But I'm just sitting here with tears streaming down my face and wishing I hadn't emailed T Monday or else I'd email him now.
