I woke up today feeling very nervous with a feeling of dread. Even though I’m getting some interest from families there is a big part of me that is very worried I won’t find a job by the time mine is over the end of June. I really do not have a a ton of time. It’s not that long of a time frame when job hunting.

So glad he's doing better! Hopefully you'll be able to see T today and talk things through. (Hm, interesting that both your dog and T had stomach issues.)

WFS, how is your cat?

Quote:
My fat cat is not fat any more, so we took him to the vet. The vet ran blood tests, which came back fine, and saw a healed broken tooth that he said was likely the cause of the weight loss because it was probably painful to eat. He's lost even more weight since, by quite a bit, so he went back today for more blood tests and an x-ray, and the vet said he thinks he sees something in his stomach. He wants to do an ultrasound tomorrow to find out what it is, but says probably stomach cancer.

My poor squishy purring plushy cat.
Senior cat was quite squishy and plushy and purring. New cat is none of those. All business.

Oh goodness... I missed the closing of the last couch and the first three pages of this one. SLACKER! Just sent an email to T that I instantly regretted. He will appreciate it... maybe even a twinge of pride in me for saying it even if it was in email... I have senders regret... and must wait until Monday for any kind of reply because before I realized I was going to get all mushy and vulnerable I put not urgent in the subject line.... sigh.
On the subject of cats... must go steam the cat... she is battling a URI and is all stuffed up... the vet suggested putting her in the bathroom with a hot shower running to loosen things up... she seems to like the spa treatment and the extra yummies she gets in case she has the urge for a snack while she can breathe....

I just made this with g/f self rising flour(read the comments and took some of the suggestions) and it is delicious. Seriously very good.
I changed up the fruit to add in some dried cranberries, dried cherries and dried blueberries along with the currents. I used black tea for the liquid and I added an egg.

The first time I contacted my therapist I didn't hear back for about a week. He'd been on vacation. You're not impatient, but there could be reasons she hasn't responded yet.

The boys and their dad are taking him to the vet in a couple hours. He was actually eating last night and very purr-y, but he looks really stiff when he moves around. The boys were giving him lots of attention and pets just in case, which he adored.

Thanks for checking in! I'll update the couch when we find out what's going on with him.

Hi Couchies, I went for a walk this windy morning. Then negated that action by having McDonald's for breakfast. Oh well. I haven't had McDonald's for breakfast in ages. At least I went for a walk this morning, yesterday it was too windy and I didn't go. I'm wearing my favorite sweater today, because it's soft and comfy. I wanted to wear it because it was a good deterrent to SH. Plus today is supposed to be the last cold day and then back to some warmer weather. I don't mind the cold but I mind the wind. I see T on Monday. I'm really hoping for a good session. HUGS Kit

I made it in a loaf pan because I think it is easier that way. It is pretty much a take on this:
Mamgu's Bara Brith | BBC Good Food

I will probably add spices next time just to see how I like it-but it is delicious without them

Ok, I am about to totally loose my S* . I started quilt blocks for another T project (yes, his awesomeness is out of town AGAIN)... I remember ironing them and setting them with my quilting stuff until I could go get the right blender fabric... now I have that and can’t find my squares... can’t just re-do them as one fabric must be special ordered. Looked in all my boxes, stashes, quilt in progress containers... nothing... I know H starts crap with me every time T goes out of town and he wasn’t happy about the squares but I think/hope I am just being paranoid.... I NEED to work on this... sadly I know exactly where T is out of town and am getting squirrrely enough just to drive my butt down there... sure THAT would not end well... and yes, I checked the fridge and freezer... I am a master at loosing car keys.

I hope you find your keys.

I've seen an ad for tiles which you can add to your items, which tell you exactly where they are.

Wanting to follow T whilst he's away on holiday reminds me of the movie "what about bob" .

I wonder if new cat would like to be steamed?

I am in grading hell. Grading from a rubric for the first time and I hate it. It seems to take longer and it depresses student grades.

One of my editing jobs is editing online college courses, and I HATE editing the rubrics. So repetitive and boring. I get the purpose of them, but still...

I hate using rubrics. Some of my colleagues would be lost without them and love them.
Why are you using one this time?

When I was a student at UNI, I liked rubrics because it seemed to take away some of the subjectivity of the grade. You knew what the prof was looking for and it seemed to make it easier to hit those objectives. Never thought about it from the other way round though.

Using it pretty much for the reasons SlumberKitty gives. To help students.

But I think I’ll go back to my old system, in which I posted a rubric but didn’t actually use it in grading. However, I still need to finish grading this assignment by rubric, since I’ve already done 20% of them.

I always find lean chicken and white rice is good when dogs are having gastrointestinal problems, so if the vet gives you the go ahead, you might try that. I hope his appointment with the vet goes well. It's a good sign he is drinking and wanting to eat. When one of my previous dogs had an obstruction, she refused to eat or drink and she definitely wasn't acting her normal self.
