T encouraged me to keep working on a short story I am writing. I said I don;t think I am very good and she told me it didn't matter, keep going anyway

After yesterday's session I am giving up on therapy for a bit, I spent a good part of the session explaining something and he totally misunderstood, he not only misunderstood but didn't care that he had. I give up.

So my H bought himself, my dad, and me 23&me kits. I've been filling out tons of surveys for them. I just did a really cool one where you try to identify an emotion simply by looking at someone's eyes. I got 23 out of 36 correct! I'm really surprised because I'm not good at picturing others faces, so I thought I wouldn't be able to identify feelings. But 23 isn't bad.

The number one T skill is listening. And it is amazing how many fail at this most basic task!

Just when I thought I had your H pegged, he throws in something completely different.

I was trying to explain how I can't process huge walls of information how he has to break it down so I can process it. He responded by giving me a lecture on auditory processing disorder which I already know about. That's the problem he brings up things I have already covered with exT and I don't want to cover old ground especially cbt stuff that I can do in my sleep

That's interesting re: emetophobes. I'm one of those, too.

I'm such a total disaster. I had my keys confiscated and was put into a cab at a concert venue last night. I didn't even have that much to drink (for me)--I think it was the heat maybe (90 degrees and muggy)? But now I awkwardly have to go reclaim my keys. I'm seeing T for a half-session (30 min) later today.

OK, now I'm seeing T for a full session (took some extra work to cover it--a benefit of being a freelancer). He's probably like OMG LT, what now? (I didn't tell him what was up, as I texted for extra session, and the rule is that I can't explain over text). Perhaps our session could be him walking with me to concert venue (near his office) to reclaim keys...

LT -

Actually that is a very common occurrence at concerts, weddings, events, etc. No need to be embarrassed or worried about getting your keys - it will just be routine for them.

Better that than a DUI. They were (hopefully) just looking out for you.

Thanks, Polibeth. I know they were looking out--they actually used my phone to call my H to see if he could pick me up, but he couldn't because our D was asleep at home. I'm just embarrassed at having this happen at 42 years old. And I didn't even think I'd drank that much, so it's partly confusion as well. I really think the heat must have played a part in it.

That would be romantic!

Why dont you be proactive and pick them up beforehand? Thats probably what he would say if he knew what was going on. Then you can be all done and dusted for the weekend! Nothing hanging over your head.

Yeah, I may go pick them up first. Sounds like they have them--or else someone else's VW keys (hard to ID keys over the phone, especially as it sounds like my tiger's eye fell off the keychain--assuming that's them). I suppose I'll find out when I see if they unlock my car (I drove it home this morning with the spare key).

I hope it was the heat and not just that they could see something you couldnt. I think most people over the limit say they didnt drink that much or dont feel that drunk.

Hi Couchies. I'm sad today. My Dad left for the four day trip to Arizona. I'm going to miss him. My Mom isn't well enough to go (sore throat) so she stayed home. I'm glad in a way that my Mom stayed home so she can rest and then I won't be alone. I have to decide if I'm still going to go to Disneyland on Sunday or stay home and take care of my Mom. I have GAD. So I get really anxious when anyone I know is going on a trip. I worry about car trouble, car accidents, the person dying while they are gone, them getting sick and having to go to the hospital, etc. So it's going to be a long four days while my Dad is gone. At least I won't have the same fears about my Mom, it's worse when they both go away like they were planning to. I just worry about them.

Yeah that hot would not work for me at all. I almost passed out waiting for the bus one time after t, and there was no booze involved. That was when i made the 0 degrees to 100 degrees F rule, which range gradually shrank down to one day a year when its exactly 67 degrees! Not really!

Oh, I know... I also have the credit card records to show the amount I had. It's an amount that, over that time period (4 hours) normally wouldn't have affected me to that level, so that's why I think heat (or something else?) was likely a contributing factor. It also got messed up because there was a thunderstorm partway through the show, so they made people leave the grounds for a bit--that's when this happened (and I got put into a cab). So I figured I'd be leaving 2 hours later than I actually did...

Keys have been retrieved, though sadly, my tiger's eye key chain is gone (well, the stone, I guess the key ring is still technically there!).

Yeah, I don't tend to do well in the heat in general. There was another concert a few weeks ago that I considered going to but chose not to because the heat index was like 110 (no, I don't live in Arizona!) Like high 90s plus high humidity. Last night wasn't quite as bad, but still pretty rough. Like I felt I needed a shower right after I got there.

Wow i wonder if they have that programmed in to their billing? Drinks per hr per customer. Easy enough to do. Flag over a certain limit.

Hmmm. On my work calendar, I have a note that says 10 AM meeting. (It's now 9:49 AM). I have no idea what meeting my note refers to. I guess I will find out in 10 minutes. Or maybe I wrote it on the wrong day? I did have a 10 o'clock yesterday.....Hmmm. Odd I have no recollection of this at all.

It’s weird being with my best friend and her husband and kiddo. They’re so full of life and energy. I feel dull in comparison. I guess some of that is the 80 hour weeks and night shifts that I’ve been working but some of it also is just my damn brain. I wish I didn’t have this stupid mental illness.
