I suppose this should go into the forum on employment, but I get most of my support in this forum, so that's why I'm putting this here.

How do you grieve the end of a job? I'm so shocked I can't go into detail, but I'm basically sitting in my office feeling many conflicting emotions: horror, fear, rage, anxiety, depression, disbelief. Mind you, I have not been fired or let go, or retrenched, or laid off. Rather the very nature of my job is changing as I type this.

I've already applied for a promotion here, but in a different department, but I won't hear anything until at least October 29th.

In the meantime, what do I do? Do I take an Ativan at work? Do I go home? Do I burst into tears? Please help.

The mods may move it , but it's like other things that change in our lives I guess. Things are always in flux though we don't always like it. What do you use when something happens will apply here too. I know how it feels though , I lost my job.Probably I'm not being much help , but I do hear you Cool. Hugs

HUGS Cool. I think changes are very difficult. I've taken Xanax at work before, and I've cried at work before, and I've left early from work before. I think all of these are options. Try to do some self care. Do something nice for yourself. HUGS Kit

You practice self care, you, reach out to your supplement system, you breath and be okay with expression whatever emotions arise. Hugs.

Hugs. If you can close your door and allow the emotions then some self care? My T would also tell me to ask myself what are my emotions trying to tell me. What are they telling me about this change, what are they pushing me to do, what are they telling me about myself? I know it isn’t a normal kind of emergency but can you call your T?
