I'm feeling immensely guilty because it's my current biggest expense since T moved to private practice, even though I don't qualify for the sliding scale and they cap their max fees. (Because it could cost WAY more than their max fees.)

Partner thinks I pay too much, a friend said "you always tell people you will manage. Ask your T again for a discount."

Edited wording to make things clearer
I paid out of pocket since L doesn't take insurance so it was 23.8% of my weekly take home pay. My h income is very up and down depending on how many jobs he gets per week so that's just based on my income.

It was a lot, I think. Eta: next t is gonna be on my insurance! And if they stop taking it after a year like L did I'll change t's immediately. No more out of pocket for me!

I'm spending ~13% of my monthly take-home income per month. Insurance doesn't cover all of my sessions. The sessions that I only pay a copay on are ~0.3% of my monthly income and the other sessions are ~1.5% each.

I honestly felt like what I got from it was worth the $ for a long time... took me way too long to see that the merry go round I had myself on with her was actually not worth it.

Like 8%. The advantage of twice a month. Or less depending on whether Info wrote the appointment down.

Art, iirc you could have submitted invoices to your insurance for partial reimbursement but chose not to?

One good thing about Pastor T is that he is free. Not just because I am a member of the Church, but once he was done with his doctorate and schooling someone in the Church paid off his student loans (I wish someone would do that for me!) and so he pays it forward by not charging anyone for therapy member of the Church or member of the general public, it doesn't matter.

And actually, I think that Regular T is overcharging me. My explanation of benefits that I have been getting from my insurance company lately shows that I should not be paying a copay, but they are still charging me a copay. I think I have reached the maximum on my insurance so the insurance is covering the whole bill. I've been waiting for them to catch it because I am not good at confrontation, but I think I am going to have to bring it up. That makes me nervous....

I try not to think about what percentage of my pay goes to therapy...my pay also varies each week, as I do freelance. Plus it's harder to figure out my actual take-home pay, as they don't take taxes out, so I have to pay estimated taxes quarterly. H's pay covers all the main expenses, while mine is more for stuff like therapy, eating out (for all of us), clothing, etc. I would say that for my pay, it's probably in the neighborhood of 15-20%, depending on what I make that week? T doesn't take insurance, but we get out-of-network benefits, so get 60% reimbursed. They used to reimburse 60% of his full fee of $175 (and ex-T and ex-MC's full fees), but then this year, without any sort of warning (same plan), would only reimburse 60% of some weird number, like $132.50. I talked to my T about it, and he brought my fee down to $150 a session, which makes the amount I pay out of pocket about the same as it was before. On my invoice, it says something like, "courtesy discount, -$25." I've told him multiple times that I feel bad about paying him the lower fee, especially going twice a week, but he tells me not to worry about it, that's it's really not that much of a difference to him after taxes and stuff.

QM, I'd ask about getting a further discount of some kind.

I only saw the life coach twice but she charged me 14% of my net pay. That’s just based on my income alone not H.

The long term therapist was charging me 20% of what my net pay was back then. I make more money now. If I was still with that therapist it would come out to about 14%of my net pay based on what I make now.

You have to figure out what to tax your own money? For me I’m considered a 1099..so they do it all on their end and I get what looks like a payroll check showing the withdrawals.

I did get receipts at one point and submitted them, you remember right I chose not to continue submitting after I checked on it - i found out that we have two different deductibles - one in-network of $5200 and one out of network of $10,500 and they do not overlap. Even seeing her at $100 a week, 52 weeks a year, I would have met only half the out-of-network deductible. So they paid nothing. I probably never mentioned that little tidbit here because I was kinda ticked off about it at the time.

What a good cat.
Kitty is reminding @@ its time to change the clocks. This would be the organic time to do it, not the official government time. Not changing the clocks is giving poor kitty vertigo, hence the puking on the screen door - outdoor time is not matching indoor time.

DST change isn't for another week. It distresses the pets to fall back. Why is breakfast late? Why is dinner late?
I do not get full advantage of sleeping my extra hour because I spend it yelling at them to let me ****ing sleep

My older cat Esther, the one with diabetes, throws up on a semi-regular basis, and always sort of has. Amelia, the little one, I think she is the one throwing up hairballs. She has longer hair than Esther. Esther usually manages to contain her throw up into her own food dish though, which is very considerate of her. Amelia on the other hand, I usually find hers in all sorts of weird places.

I for one, and this is just IMHO, think we should do away with the time change all together. It just messes me up twice a year. And it's annoying having to change all the clocks.

I get annoyed when people don't change their clocks or are slow to do so. Good lord - we have clocks for a reason. The time must be correct.

Got my haircut, more just a trim but don't have much to complain other than my bangs.

Already texted the crisis line this morning but I hate doing it because they keep a record of your date of birth and phone number. I guess I could lie when I use the chat service but I feel like they think I'm wasting their time

I spend 27% - 34% of my "income" (aka what my parents send me each month, I am a student) on therapy - and that is just for the copay. It depends on the month since some have more weeks than others. This month there are 5 weeks and therefore 10 sessions.

ETA - one session is 3.36% of my overall monthly income. I go twice weekly.

My stomach is upset. I don't know why. I have to keep going to the bathroom. I used to have this problem all the time and then I haven't had it in a while. And then today, this afternoon, it's back. I haven't eaten anything weird. I am just drinking Tea. I'm counting down the minutes until I get off work and can go home and put on comfy pants: 55 minutes to go currently. I am already wearing a ridiculously comfortable sweater that is so stinking soft. I love it. It is oversized, and black with grey and white flecks. I love black. And pink. But I am ready to get out of these trousers and into some yoga pants and maybe even if my stomach doesn't feel better, it won't hurt so much.
