I'm not quite there to call, but I feel like I need support. Is that enough to call? I feel as if I should call before my thoughts get out of hand. Should I call my t? He's on vacation.

He said I could call if I'm "edging on crisis" is that now?

What does that mean? I'm not sui I'm just blah. But starting to as I write this conveniences myself to call. But does it.... It's the same wishy washyness that has gotten me into trouble.

I keep going back and forth on do I call??

I'm not sure what you describe is "edging on crisis." Can you perhaps try some ideas for changing your environment, your activity level, etc. that might get you through this "blah" state without needing your therapist to help you do that? Perhaps give a few things a try and see if this passes a bit, or at least doesn't become worse.

I understand, as I've had multiple conversations about what he defines as a "crisis," when it would be OK to text him and possibly request phone call. I thought I understood, but then a month or so ago, I emailed him when I felt really bad, but didn't think he'd count it as a crisis. He replied, maybe at like 8 p.m.? Then I replied, and he replied again, at 10 p.m. on a Friday, which I wasn't expecting, as he tends to just reply in the mornings. He said later that he was really concerned about me, that he got the sense maybe I wasn't OK/safe. So it seems he would have actually considered that a crisis...

Does your T allow texting? Because you could text something like what you put here. Or email? Or if you most likely would get his voicemail if you called, you could leave what you said on his voicemail. That you're starting to feel really bad but aren't sure it's hit "edge of crisis" level.

My guess is he is speaking of risk of physical danger.

Let's give you an old,old saying :

An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.

If wishy washy has been a historic predictor of illness flare up ,good self care would be make contact try and derail a flare up ,avoid complicating your life and making it any harder than it is .
Thanks for this!

I feel like if you're on the verge of calling him, you should, because like other people have said; it's better to prevent things than to let them get way out of hand.

Do you have a pdoc or other provider you can contact instead since your therapist is on vacation? If he wasn't on vacation, this would be an easy, "yes, certainly give him a call," but the vacation factor seems to warrant a true emergency. I was always able to call my pdoc as an alternative when my therapist was away (and vice versa).

I haven't called yet. I did call my student developer at my University. I feel on the fence about everything. I wish things were different. Right now I am safe but that is the question, how long will I be safe? Thanks for the quick responses. It's much appreciated!

It's actually an answering service.

I talked to the on call. It didn't really help. I didn't like the guy that was on the phone. I need my T!! He's the one that grounds me and makes sure I am grounded. As I am not always able to.

I got a call from the T office and there was a cancelation. and I took the spot. But it's for tomorrow. I wish it was for today.

Possible trigger:

I sure hope he can get me through this. I feel very down and the meds aren't helping. I took my PRN this morning about 5 hours ago. and it has dulled my mind but not kept the thoughts away.
Possible trigger:

HUGS @puzzclar I'm proud of you for reaching out to your T and getting in for an appointment soon. I'm sorry it's not today but I'm glad it's not longer. I'm sorry you are feeling so badly. If you feel like you can't hold on, go to the hospital or call a helpline. Keep talking to us if it helps. Lots of Hugs, Kit

So far I've made about 10% progress. I need a lot more. I should talk more but I'm scared that it won't help. I'm still inpatient and need to be out by Wednesday morning

I talked to the person that did the intake. She recommended a week stay for starters.
