Hugs, hope you're able to get an appointment and that you feel better soon. Sounds like it's something physical at this point rather than a reaction to your session.

So now at the end, after we've said parting words, he just sort of looks at the camera till I click the "leave meeting." It helps a little.

I sort of wish he'd wave or something at the end (he does at the beginning sometimes). I said one time that I'd thought about asking him to put his hand up to the camera like a virtual handshake, and he said, "Like this?" and did that, then I put my hand up. We were both laughing because it seemed goofy but was also kinda nice. I sorta wish we could do that at the end of each time but feel awkward asking for it because it seems silly. Maybe I'll just try asking for a wave.

We did a hand thing at the beginning of my session yesterday, L said something about reestablishing our connection or something and put her hand up palm facing the camera and asked me to do the same thing. I did and she said i feel that, do you? I said no but then after a few more seconds i swear i felt a tinge of warmth and I said so; she said "yes!" That was nice. A little kooky and woowoo perhaps, but nice. I refrained however from doing an air hug at the end like we do at the end of our weekly zoom meetings with my drumming peeps. If I do end up doing a couple-3 more sessions like this I'm going to ask her if I can end them and see if that feels better. I mean, it wasn't terrible her ending it, just, like i said, jarring. I'll be prepared for it if/when there is a next time.

RE: cat toys. Amelia likes the balls with the bells in them. They are literally all over the house. She also likes crumpled up paper for some reason. She doesn't really do anything with the toys that have the catnip in them but my mom's dog carries them around so it works (she's a small dog). When she was a kitten, she really liked this feather on a string and could literally play with it for an hour or so at one sitting. Esther never really was into toys. She likes catnip sprinkled on this box that she has that she is supposed to scratch at but doesn't. She just lays on it. But since she was a prolific hunter in her younger years, I think she got all the stimulation she needed out of the birds in the backyard. I've noticed that since Amelia has become indoor/outdoor she doesn't play as much either. Not sure if it is her entering her cat years instead of kitten years, or if it is just that she gets her needed stimulation outside.

RE: the therapist ending the telehealth session. Pastor T always did this and I was just relieved to get off the call with him. I did find it jarring also but also I was like glad to be off the session with him. Regular T just calls me on the phone. She is probably the one that hangs up first but I am the one that is winding down the session.

Apparently I passed my psych evaluation for bariatric surgery so yay! Having depression is okay as long as you have a plan of care in place, it appears.

My sleep thing dudnt go as expected i stayed up 30 minutes later but woke after 6 hours but not completely awake that stupid twilight med induced haze and just passed in and out of consciousness til the alarm went off. I wonder if its my anxiety about my daughter not wanting to go to school? The stupid thing is the education department says if you withdraw your child due to covid19 you wont be penalised but her school said they are not sending work home. I dont know why they managed when the schools were losed to send things via email or one note oe whatever its called

Started reading chapter 1 for summer class (Developmental Psych). This is a lot of reading over the next 8 weeks. Eek. I need to get a bunch of stuff done on my day off tomorrow, we have our first chat (a mini-discussion kinda thing) due on 6/13, then our first discussion post due 6/15, chat 2 due 6/17 and discussion responses due 6/19. I hate when the instructor wants the 2 responses done on different days. Why does that matter, I wonder? Oh well. I'll manage.

Sigh, here I go reading...... first up, the Cohort Effect....

Answering as someone who copy edits online college courses and has also taken a few--the Discussion thing is for a couple reasons. It's to get you to participate on more than one day. It also helps get a wider variety of responses. You can then respond to others' responses. If everyone just posted their initial post on the 15th and everyone did their responses to a post at the same time, then there wouldn't really be many responses to the responses. Or everyone would respond to the same one. This helps ensure variety. Hope that makes sense!

That's a good point, to get us on there more than one day. Although I can't imagine not being on there every day anyway just to get all the reading done! There's a lot of it. I think it would be really interesting to do a job like that, how'd you get into it?

This is exactly right. It also helps build a sense of community in an online course that is easy to establish f2f but not online.

I've taken it further in some of my online courses and I do a daily discussion--like a(n often silly) question in my myth class (example, which god would win a Royal Rumble?), or Medical Word of the Day in my medical roots class. They can submit it late since it is for credit, but it gets them checking in regularly, just like they would in a f2f class.

They didn’t figure out what was wrong but did find that I have a random ovarian cyst. (It wasn’t bleeding or anything so they didn’t think that was the clause of me feeling so badly for the last few days). My chief is still worried though so she told me not to come in tomorrow even though I thought I could give it a shot.

Just applying for different copy editing jobs years ago. Worked there full-time for a few years and then went freelance after I had my D. (I also do copy editing of science journal articles for a different company.) The online course editing is interesting because it's all different subjects.

Just my anecdotal experience, but I've felt pretty lousy when I've had one. I went to the ER one night because I had abdominal pain and a fever and some other symptoms I can't recall and it turned out to be ovarian cysts. I felt kind of dumb at that point, but couldn't take the visit back. I've also had them with no symptoms other than I could feel it in there and it was uncomfortable.

I'm thankful that most my professors have allowed the 3 discussion replies on the same day. It's a lot more challenging for me to remember to post on 3 separate days plus the assignments with everything going on.

I am still feeling pretty crummy today but don't have a temp anymore. I woke up in a cold sweat this morning so maybe it went away for the time being.

I "see" T1 tomorrow and him and trauma T were supposed to connect this week. Last time I spoke with T1, he mentioned trying to find a SH specialist for me but I told him trauma T wants to see me more often than 1x a week. So I think he might be on board with dropping him and seeing trauma T 2x a week. CPS wants them all to communicate with each other and them, and it's probably easier for everyone just to do the one. We'll see when I talk to him tomorrow.

My school (all online) has discussion boards due on one day and replies a few days later. I find it helps with engagement. My professor asked me a question about my post this week, so I’ll reply to that tomorrow. I may just finish the course this weekend. I don’t have any other plans.

I dont know if this applies, but last night i googled massage for endometrial pain. I had a severe case in the late 1990's. My obgyn told me oh it could be a microscopic bit of tissue on a nerve. Im like and it feels like im impaled on a 2 x 2 thru my ovary? I said can i massage it? She said NO, that wont do anything. Well i did anyway and the pain went away. I couldnt live like that, i was seeing stars, sweating.

Lo and behold, TWENTY YEARS LATER, in 2017, they advocate massage. Ive always said i was twenty years ahead of my time!

One of my dear friends is in the psych hospital because she's having a manic episode--apparently the first one she's ever had, even though she's in her thirties. I can't come visit because of COVID. It is just so upsetting to talk with her over the phone because I love her but she doesn't sound like herself right now. She begged me to take her out of the hospital this weekend but I had to tell her no--I'm supposed to work, and also frankly she still doesn't sound well and I'm scared that she'll get away from me somehow and it'll be my fault. This is awful.
