Among things I never thought I would be doing six months ago: having a 7 am Monday dentist appointment during a pandemic.

They always wear gloves and masks anyway, so the only change was the health check at the door and the front desk staff wearing masks.

By the way, why is it when I haven’t been brushing or flossing regularly, that’s when my teeth get the best ratings at my checkup? But when I’ve been religious about it, there is something wrong?

My insurance company. That amount IS the discounted amount - the $1272.58 is the amount that they discounted off the billed amount of $1788. I should have been more clear. This is really helpful for when I call them later to tell them I'm mailing a copy of the EOB so I say it right! Thank you.

Yep, the EOB shows the billed amount of $1788, the plan discount amount of $1272.58 and the total amount I owe $515.42 which is what I already paid. I am being billed now for $1272.58. I'll straighten it out. Just one more thing in a list. Right? Do things one at a time, cross them off.

So my H had an MRI last week to assess how a groin injury ("sports hernia") was healing. He had the followup with the orthopedist today, and we thought it would be about if he needed surgery or not. Turns out, the MRI place imaged the wrong area, so now he has to go for a new MRI (his doctor said he'd make sure the imaging place wouldn't charge him for it because it was their screwup). Sigh...I feel like he's cursed with MRIs. The first one he went to get for this injury, in the fall, the MRI machine was broken--well, the technician said it was "emitting a strange odor," and he had to wait for them to restart it, still seemed wrong, so he had to go to another location.

At least it's not like on the show "House," where it seemed like people getting an MRI would end up having a seizure or heart attack or something while being scanned...this one site used to call it the "MRI of Doom."

That looks tasty, EM. I guess I could use fake chicken? (I don't really like chickpeas.)

I feel like I lost all my progress I've made since January and March. I started biting my nails again, H is back in the house and I agreed to do 1 maybe 2 mini family trips together in the next 3 weeks, and I keep thinking of saying screw therapy.

Possible trigger:

Going to go do something for myself to try to change my mood and get a haircut.

Hugs, SheHulk. These are really difficult times... I've said to my T that I felt I was making all this progress before the pandemic, but then it stopped, and I feel I've gone backward. He said that because I did it once, should be able to get there more quickly the next time. I imagine it would be similar for you (and others).

Can you take that anger and direct it at him instead of yourself and just tell him you don't want him there? I thought CPS said he couldn't be there anyway? What happened with getting a restraining order against him?

I talked to Regular T on Saturday. We are going to have an in person session at the end of the month unless something gets really out of control in our county. We are going to wear masks and sit 6 feet apart. I'm excited to get to see her. It's been too long.

I sent my CFO an article from NAMI on Schizoaffective Disorder because I was in a really bad place last week and I couldn't figure out how to explain it. So I let the article do the talking. Then this week I followed up with her and asked her if she had any questions and told her not to be scared of me because I know a lot of people get scared when they hear "schizo" because I would never ever hurt her or anyone. I told her I do get voices, and visual hallucinations and I do apparently have some delusions but that they are mostly managed by the medication. She said she thinks of me as she does anyone else and she thinks I am nice, kind, intelligent blah blah blah and that she is proud of me. I feel like I did a little micro-advocacy. I wanted her to understand why I wasn't doing well last week but IDK if that got across. At least it's something. And she didn't reject me. Yeah!

My birthday is in two weeks. The aquarium has opened back up so we got tickets (my parents and I) and we are going to go on my birthday which is what I wanted to do. I'm excited that we will get to go to the aquarium!

Anyone ever feel like someone listened to you without hearing you? It's a frustrating feeling. Even if there is nothing wrong with their reply, it's just frustrating.

I found out my gym is going to start doing classes again, so I’m planning on going to yoga next Tuesday. I haven’t been since I got sick during the class a while back. I would go tomorrow but I have dinner plans after therapy, and the Thursday class is during my DBT group.

Sitting at car dealer service center for a fix that was only supposed to take 40mins. I have now been sitting here for 2hrs and 40mins. Which meant I had to cancel my first hair appointment post quarantine. Car repair is rarely simple.

She may have been uncomfortable. There is still a lot of stigma around mental illnesses, and she might not have known how else to appropriately respond to an employee telling her she hears voices and sees things. KWIM?

You're right. She gave me back a perfectly fine response, even though I feel she doesn't understand and she might not, not having gone through it herself. I wanted her to know about the voices and seeing things, but also that I would never ever hurt her or anyone else, even if the voices tell me to hurt myself. But that probably was TMI. I'm letting it go because I don't want to make her uncomfortable, I'm just sad because I wished to be understood. By her specifically and in general. Sometimes I think I just try too hard.

Of course it's while the Baseball Couch is going that the baseball commissioner says he's not sure a 2020 season will happen at all.

Seems like baseball is one of the more socially distanced team sports except on bases and the catcher/batter/umpire clump at home. MLS is having a spectatorless tournament next month and at times they are definitely not 6 feet apart.

It's not because of the virus so much as a) owners and players hate each other, so couldn't negotiate, and b) MLB now wants players to indemnify MLB if they do get sick.

It's immaterial that taxpayers (often fans) paid for most of the owners' stadiums, and that fans boost players' popularity and therefore their dollar value and salaries. But putting aside all differences to play for the fans is not on the table.
