RE: Spanish tenses - I think they have tenses that we don't really use, or aren't aware that we are using.

There are certain grammatical constructions that force the use of particular tenses in specific situations.

They mentioned on the broadcast that a player on the Nationals (I think--or the Yankees, one of the teams that was playing) had tested positive. So not sure how long the season will last...I feel like the NBA has a better chance with being in the "bubble." I see the NFL season being canceled either after training camps or the first couple games. Or at least put on hiatus. Hockey might be fine, as I think they're all playing in Canada.

That concludes the LT sports report.

Buying a new car today. Kinda nervous. Been about 10 years since I've done that... Getting a black Subaru Impreza hatchback (would have preferred a different color, but was good with anything but white or gray, and they're limited in options right now). I drove it yesterday, and it just felt right, like a connection to the car, plus fun to drive. While the Civic I drove the day before was just "eh." The fact that the Civic shuddered/shook a couple times when I accelerated especially gave me pause.... The Subaru did not shudder...it seemed happy that I was accelerating. It also has a ridiculous number of safety features, like blind spot warnings, lane departure warnings if I don't put on turn signal, and a bunch more.

It's going to be a long day at work. I've been here an hour and a half and I'm pretty much done with my work. I have one or two little things I could do. I want to be busy so we can stop furloughing 16 hours a week, but at this rate we will be furloughed for the rest of the year!

Yup, negative for antibodies. Not a surprise, but boooooo.

But hey, I did my patriotic bit to lower the test positivity rate! (Since my state, like so many, counts serology and diagnostic results together in one big “new cases” category—stupid but that’s how they do it.)

13 year old diabetic cat isn't doing too well today; I'm feeling sad. I heard him pitifully meowing earlier and found him in my bedroom, sitting over in a corner in a puddle of urine. Poor guy. I picked him up and held him/comforted him a bit and carried him to one of the litter boxes but he didn't use it, instead he went and climbed up inside the couch in our library room and has been hiding in there ever since.

Ugh, Spanish oral exam in half an hour. I'm so nervous. At least only 5/30 points is for grammar, and it says they don't have to be perfect. I'm not sure if that means you can get all give points even if you make a mistake or what. I feel like there's going to be a lot of long pauses while I determine what tense to use.

I really just want to get it over with... although if I could have gotten a later slot on Sunday, I would have.

Diabetic cat has moved from inside the couch to my bedroom closet on the other side of the house. I am glad he was able to walk himself there. I do worry about all this hiding though.

My oldest niece turns 16 today. I can't believe she is old enough to drive. She should still be 4 or 5 in my opinion. Plus she is making me feel old! I miss her so much. I hardly ever get to see her. I texted her this morning around 6ish and she texted me back when she got up around 10! Ah, to be young!

My diabetic cat hides a lot too. I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow in part because she doesn't always go in her litter box. It's driving me crazy. Not to mention it's really upsetting my parents. She has lots of other symptoms going on so I'm not sure what it is. Hopefully its not an $800 vet bill. Hope your kitty is okay Artie.

Cats often hide when they're sick. And just like human diabetics, they often have to pee more--so they don't always make it to the litter box. More litter boxes around the house might be the answer.

Kit, it sucks to say this, but if her quality of life is declining, it might be time to let her go.

Yes, I did add more litter boxes which seems to be helping but even with more litter boxes, she doesn't always make it to one. I'm kind of out of room to place any more. I'd like to put one right by her daybed but it would literally be in the walkway right when you come into the house. No one is visiting anyway because of COVID so it might be a short term solution anyhow.

I've thought about it possibly being time to say goodbye to Esther. I will see what the vet recommends tomorrow. My Mom asked me how I would feel if he says that, that, is an option that we could/should consider. trigger for Christianity
Possible trigger:
at least enough that if that is an option or is the option I will have the courage to go through with it. She's 16 after all, which is quite old for a cat. I don't want to let her go but we'll see what the x-rays show about her tumors and such. I don't want her in pain.

Hugs Kit. and to your kitty. My vet can't get us in until Monday afternoon. I am concerned about a high vet bill too. How old is she, you've probably said before I just can't remember (numbers do not stay in my head)
