In reading through the posts of the last week or so it seems that so many people have had their expectations let down for there first session after a long holiday. I hate it for everyone, but wanted to post something on the positive side. I did not see my therapist for three weeks during the holiday break and my first meeting with him went just wonderful. It was a warm and caring session and we both were able to express that we had missed each other over the holidays and were glad to be back working together. My therapist even admitted that he has thought about me and how I was doing over the holidays. Of course I told him the same thing. We were very connected druing that sessing and it felt so "right". Sometimes he just amazes me with his willingness to self-disclose at times and to be so honest about his feelings. Of course this certainly encourages me to be open and honest about mine too. I actually had a good holiday! No depression, no anxiety and I really allowed myself to enjoy it all. Its been a long time since I've had three good weeks in a row without some negative feelings but not this time. It was great and we spent most of the session celebrating how good I had felt despite the fact that I had missed seeing him. It was a great session. Just wanted to share that!
